How did you decide to get into your line of work?

It really was a natural progression. Paul has always been passionate about building things. As he grew, so did the size of his building projects covering everything from decks to multi million dollar homes.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

We have many favourites.....  On more than one occasion, the children of our clients have grown up and built their own homes with us. This testifies to the ongoing relationship with our clients and importantly to the quality of the build.

HAPPY CLIENTS. We have been really lucky to work with great clients. Together we have fulfilled their dreams and created some incredible homes and/or renovations. The joy we experience as we hand over the keys or present the finished construction is truly second to none.

Clients should always confirm the contractor is licenced and insured for the work they are performing. They could also ask for references.

We answer all types of questions (there is no such thing as a silly question when you are spending your hard earned money to build or renovate your home or place of business). We are available to our clients whenever they need to speak with us via email, phone or in person.

Paul is an experienced builder who continues to own and operate Hando Homes with son Rhys. Both Paul and Rhys work on site (i.e. on the tools). Paul's honesty, integrity and attention to detail have ensured Hando Homes clientele are extremely happy and often repeat customers.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

Having a plan and approximate budget in mind in essential. (We can of course help with the planning).  Having an idea of the quality of fixtures and fittings is also required to ensure accurate quoting.

Good planning is the key to saving money on any job. This applies to the customer as much as it does to us. 1. Have a plan to work from  2. Liaise with our team to source materials for you and take advantage of our trade pricing 3. Stick to the plan

We don't offer specials. Our pricing is competitive and as per previous question, it is accurate down to the last dollar as we obtain quotes from our trades to ensure there are no hidden costs.

Many of the trades that we work with have been contracted by Hando Homes for over 20 years. This loyalty ensures they provide us with competitive pricing which we pass along to our clients.

We liaise with our clients to understand their requirements to ensure our quote is accurate with no hidden fees. We request a deposit with agreed progress payments throughout the job process.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

We do undertake any building work however we do specialise in new home construction, additions, renovations, bathroom and ensuite refits.

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

Over 30 years experience as a Builder with exceptional carpentry skills. We are members of HIA and Master Builders. We attend all relevant training courses to ensure our skills continue to be relevant and current.
