Hi there, Adam quoted $65 per hour on his email response, he arrived at 11am as my security system can verify arrival time. (very prompt) left after completion at approx 2.30 pm that's 3.5 hours x $65 per hour = $227.50 for labour. Bill of materials as follows 2 x ethernet single port wall plates ($29.90), 1 x Dual Ethernet indoor plate (28.99), 1 x Dual outdoor power point ($25.85), 1 x indoor power point ($14.00) and approx 42 meters of CAT6 cabling @ .88 per meter ($36.96) allowance of $50 for silicone that was advised already half a tube, Cat6 cable advised @ $3 for a 2Mtr pre made length as customer supplied Ethernet cables were untilised in installation. sub total $413.20 how ever total bill came to $500, i guess the $86 was of other unknown ancillary parts?. I have no argument with Adams professionalism and would recommend him to anyone seeking a well presented knowledgable electrician. Just ask prior to commencing work for a written quote for budgeting purposes. repliedSparkWorx Electrical18 Jan 2018
Hi Milt. Thank you for your review. I arrived at the scheduled time of 10:45 exactly as per the phone conversation. I did tell you the final invoice at time 2:40 which is almost exactly 4 hours (-5 mins). In your calculations above you have missed an hour whilst adding up.(11-2:30 equals 3.5 hours) So 4 hours @ $65 equals $260.00. Dual outdoor power point as discussed I will not install any item that I find defective under my license and therefore it was a more expensive unit at $35.00 I also have to charge for other ancillaries with the job. These include, the additional Cat6 fly leads you wanted, screws, silicone, tape, plaster brackets, co-ax joiners for the modem cable, power cable for your power point, and co ax cable for your modem extension. The cat6 cable has a meter marking on it and although in a straight line it might seem like 30 meters by the time we manouver around obstacles under the floor etc I actually used 42 metres. So as you can see there are a lot of additonal little items you dont see that also need to be charged for. Please feel free to give me a call and I can send an itemised report on the costing. Thanks again.Jason
