The first wedding I ever shot was the best!. The temperature maxed at 45 degrees and the bridal party were completely loopy, we headed to the beach for the afternoon and although I was only engaged to shoot the reception arrival, I ended up staying (at their insistence) until 4am. Great!

What do you like most about your job?

Loading the raw images onto the computer and seeing the results at full resolution for the first time is 'golden' - when you see you got exactly what you were after, priceless!

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

The first question to ask, "Is photography your profession?" Modern cameras have given rise to the 'spray and pray' part timer. They keep their finger on the shutter and take hundreds or even thousands of shots, knowing a couple are bound to turn out OK. They work cheap but don't take the chance!

An ethical, honest approach is critical to building a reputation as a photographer. I appreciate the trust placed in me on every shoot and always give my all to deliver quality results.

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

I have been involved in the visual art industry for over 20 years as a Producer, Director, Editor and Photographer. My experience working on big and small budget projects is insurance against the kinds of mistakes that inexperienced or part-time Photographers often make.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

Location, anticipated time period required for the shoot and how (and when) the images need to be be delivered are key requirements for quoting on your job.

1. Find some images taken in the style you want as references 2. Settle on a location and provide info as soon as possible 3. Know exactly what you want to achieve from the shoot

Are there any special offers you would like to offer to Oneflare customers?

Oneflare customers who book a full day wedding shoot will be treated to a free 2 hour pre-wedding shoot. The location must be within the Melbourne CBD or (preferably) in the Dandenong ranges.

What makes your pricing competitive?

Accepted Answer

My pricing approach is very flexible. I often complete jobs for less than my daily rate if I "connect" with the client and the style they want. Most importantly I have accumulated the experience and equipment to get quality results - every time. Not every reasonably priced photographer can!

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

We enter into a contract when you book me for your shoot. This means I can't accept any other jobs on that day. Accordingly, I require a 20% deposit as insurance against losing income. With sufficient lead time, a further 30% is due 14 days before the shoot and the final 50% is due on the day.

Whilst I am at home with many forms of stills photography, portraiture is my favorite discipline.Catching the essence of the subject is very challenging but extremely rewarding.

Years spent working with Australia's top motion picture directors of photography and stills photographers - followed by more than a decade honing my skills as a principal photographer have given me the experience needed to reliably deliver quality results.
