Job Description: Bazil is my chihuahua, and his vet is Denver at challenger vets kwinana. Bazil is taking fluoxetine every day and Clonidine. He suffers from severe anxiety and yaps and shakes at EVERYTHING. The meds work to some extent, but it's started to get worse. He is scared of everything and it's reached a point where my partner wants him gone. Every time Bazil is awake, he's so anxious that we have no choice but to give him his clonidine. So it feels like all we do is drug him to put him back to sleep. It's no life for him and it's so upsetting to drug a puppy to get us all through the day. Bazil is never alone. He goes everywhere with us and sleeps in bed with me. We live in a quiet home, no kids being loud and obnoxious. My daughter is autistic and is SO gentle and loving with him. We have other cats and dogs that Bazil LOVES. They get along and play, so I don't feel there are any negative people or animals in his home to upset him. He was a happy little dog until he was sterilised at 6 months of age. I also know he was not correctly weaned off his mother. He has terrible issues with food and it's hard to get him to eat. Food is a big issue and he won't eat meals. We have to feed him by hand. We can't train him with food as he doesn't see treats as a reward. Right now we just don't know what to do. We drug our puppy and he won't eat. We expected a happy puppy running around destroying shoes, and all I do know is cry and feel sorry for him. I'd love some advice.
Training needed: Behavioral training | Breed of pet: Chihuahua | When: As soon as possible | Age of dog 13 months
