Alan and Harry recently completed tiling our marble bathroom and separate toilet. We used 600mm x 600mm Crema Marfil marble. In order to source the highest quality grade of that type of marble, we had to use the marble in 3mm format with 9mm porcelain backed. Those 12mm marble porcelain backed tiles are not the easiest to lay. Given we also wanted mitred edges around our windows, and along the edge where our front and end bath marble tile panel met, it required tilers of the highest skill to be able to achieve the result we were looking for.
Alan and Harry’s tiling skills have certainly exceeded beyond our expectations. They used wet tile saws to cut all of our tiles in order to achieve the precision cuts that were required for our delicate marble porcelain backed tiles. They also used a laser guided levelling device to ensure the tiles were finished in position to where they wanted them to be. To achieve no lipping on the tile edges, they used the wedge levelling system that clips onto the tile during the laying stage, which was exactly what we were looking for in a tiler. In order to ensure our grout lines will never mould or flake for an ever lasting finish, they applied Mapei Kerapoxy epoxy grout with matching colour. To top it off, Alan did the best silicone finish I have ever seen. He is the only guy that has done a better silicone finish than me, and I am extremely good at doing silicone finish, but I have to hand the crown to him on that. His silicone finish is even more perfect than mine.
We’re extremely happy with the perfect mitred edge finish around our windows and bath panel edge. Even though they had the wet tile saw that could cut at 45 degree, they instead did the mitre edges on our tiles with a hand held grinder with a wet sponge. That just shows their precise hand skill and craftsmanship.
The finished product at the end was outstanding. They totally delivered the vision and design we had set out to create in our luxury bathroom. They are very professional, hard working, always reachable, very responsive, turned up on time every day, and kept us informed during the whole process. Above all, I could see they were both very passionate about trying to achieve the best result for our bathroom. It is rare to see this.
I would have no hesitation in recommending these pairs of master tilers. Will be looking for them when we move onto tiling other parts of our house and bathroom.
