Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

Moving Companies can't actually sell you insurance on your move unless it is through a third party. Even in the cases of third part insurances the products are not comprehensive and often have a very high excesses.  But never fear we cover every thing with a written ACCC approved REPAIR GUARANTEE. It is one of a kind and is writing with both of our signatures says if we damage your property or home we will repair or replace it for you. Of course some things are not covered like boxes we have not packed, but 99% of what you move will be covered.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

The founder of the company had an aunt move interstate and the company did not turn up at the other end. She lost all of her belongings and paid in advance.   After this he looked into the industry and found that most companies did not focus on customer service as a priority. Coming from a hospitality background he saw a great opportunity and Your Local Movers was born.

We look at our job as rescuing people from stress and bad experiences. All the team know what its like to be in their customers shoes- moving is a stressful, costly, worrying and more often than not an emotional experience.

Does your price include GST?  How do you protect my furniture? What guarantee of service do you have? How will I know you will arrive on time? What happens if some thing goes wrong with your truck? How do you train your movers to save me time and money?

We are the only Moving and storage company to offer a ACCC approved Repair Guarantee to our service. We have extensive recruitment guidelines including our Grandmother Policy (If we wouldn't send some one to our Grandmothers Home we won't send them to yours).  You only pay for the time you use your movers. So it's as easy possible to make your move.

When you are moving? How many bedrooms are in your home, inclusive of an office or study? Do you have any thing in a garage or storage? Do you have any thing of high sentimental of financial value you may be concerned about moving? Are you waiting on a settlement at your new property?

Our website has extensive information and article about saving money on a move.   Our top 3 tips are  1. Use Moving Boxes and pack every thing smaller than a moving box into an actual moving box. This can save you up to 20% of your moving time even if your only going around the corner. 2. Have every thing ready to go when we arrive. While we can do it all for you if you want to save on the time and cost, taking beds apart and disconnecting white goods is a great place to start.  3. And if you really want to save time and money have some friends over and move some of the smaller items to the truck for our movers to load. What makes your pricing competitive?

6 minute increments and no set call out fee's put you in control of the cost at all times. Our movers are trained and have their skills regularly assed and updated. We survey every move and reward the best scores for each month so your movers will always be quick and helpful.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

Hourly rate moves are charged in 6 minute blocks (10% of an hour) so you can transparently see what you are paying for at the end of your move. This means you don't pay any set fees and every thing is in writing up front at the beginning  of them move.

We offer fixed rate options for any large move and can tailor a package to suit your requests and needs. No two moves are ever the same so we make our service as flexible as possible.
