I have all the neccessary insurances for my work. My fee is devided into segments which are paid at the end of each stage upon my clients satisfaction. We then proceed to the next stage upon my clients instruction.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

My father was an English Architect. He died when I was only 2 years old.  My talent and desire to become an architect came to me naturally.

As an architect, we need to become very close to our clients to enable us to design a house that best suits their life style and tastes. Therefore, very often we become lifetime friends.

My job satisfaction comes when my client and I work in harmony to achieve an incredable outcome. Many of my past clients become good lifetime friends.

A client should always ask a proposed designer... (1) What are your fundamental Design Principles? (2) Is he or she aware of present Building Costs in The area? (3) Please obtain the name and phone number of his last client as a reference.

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

The most common question I am asked is Construction Cost estimate. With my experianc, this is not a hard question, and can be answered satisfacturely in our first meeting. The next question is..."do I supervise the construction?" The answer is "yes".

What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?

I am 68 years old. I have run my own office for over 30 years and now work from home with satelite draftsmen. If required, I can provide many references from my past clients.

My skills are not only in design, but also in construction knowledge. Problems are only advantages under disguise. Problem sites are my specialty.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

I need to know my clients likes and dislikes.  Quite often my clients have set direction in design and materials to be used. It would help me to speak to a client who can show me pictures of what they prefer. The final outcome may be something entirely different.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

I advise my clients to obtain as much information on their site before we speak. Site Survey, Council Conditions and prefered design direction will save me time and my client a reduced fee.

All Oneflare clients receive a 20% discount on normal rates. My rates have not changes for many years, and are very reasonable when equated to my experiance.

What makes your pricing competitive?

My work is never expensive, as I will always solve the problems quickly and reach a solution my clients are very with. Quite often my design solutions are something my clients have never thought about.

How do you normally charge for your service?

I normally charge on a M2 x the degree of difficulty. Once we have agreed on a fee, this will not be discussed again. My clients satisfaction and architectural outcome is my aim.

I specialise in Residential Design in all its forms. Enviromental design is the use of Good Design principles and logical thought.

I have over 30 years experiance in Residential Design. From Award Winning Home Designs to Seniors living, Medium Density to High Rise and Resort Living. Functionality and value for money is formost in my designs.
