How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I always new from a very young age that I want to be in the creative field. When I was about 14, I decided I wanted to be a designer.

There is not one favourite story but many. Probably what I'd like to mention here is the wonderful relationships I've built with clients over the years. I enjoy seeing their brands and products grow. Being a part of that is the most wonderful feeling!

Being creative, coming up with solutions, meeting new people and working across across a broad range of industry areas. I honestly think I have the best job in the world!!

I feel it's very important to find a designer you connect with. One that you feel understands your business or project. There are many off-shore companies offering cheap logos / graphic design but they are "stock standard" and almost always lack a connection with your product.

What is your hourly rate? My hourly rate is $75 + gst per hour. I'm not the cheapest but by far I'm not the most expensive! Can you do it by tomorrow? Yes ;)

Over the years, we have worked with many small to medium sized businesses. So many of the clients we meet are sole operators and new to business. Often they don’t know where to start and need some guidance as to the best approach for their business image needs. Others just want to revitalise their existing business image and we truly enjoy seeing a renewed sense of energy with the work that we produce for them.  We here at Viva not only love to create great design, we love to help solve any creative problems you're experiencing with great solutions and ideas!  We have an outstanding reputation with our clients. In fact, just about 95% of clients who engaged our services initially, have returned for further design work (many of whom still use our services on a regular basis!).

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

As much information as possible! (Best discussed over a coffee ;) I also enjoy getting to know my clients on a personal level so you can expect some unrelated chit-chat. For me its about gaining your trust and getting to know your personality to build a solid business relationship.

• For the client to be clear and upfront about the budget (if there is one) • For Viva Graphic to Design supply a quote • For the client to be clear about their what they want from the job. Changing the size / purpose of the proposed design can add costs onto the job
