Where to start! My commercial air conditioner stopped working and our normal technician was unavailable for 1.5weeks. Given it was the height of Summer, it was not viable for clients to swelter through. SYDMECH were available immediately so we booked them. From start of job til now, all I can say to sum them up is NO communication, miscommunication, excessive charging, no accountability..... oh and our system de-gasses again within 4 weeks of their "repair job". New crack is in same position but on other side of pipe from where they welded. Apparently (and conveniently) a new crack that definitely could not have been there when their 1st technician assessed and repaired the pipe (oh and he no longer works with them 7 weeks later). We can repair for you but it will be charged. Of course it will.... Now SYDDMECH are suggesting bigger fixes like replacing part of the pipe or the compressor. Would have been nice to have been provided these options initially so I could have had more than the only band-aid solution they offered. They say no way they could have known pipe would need replacing - yet the original technician knew system was coming up to 20 years old and commented that he was surprised it had held out so well. He also put new rubber feet under the compressor to try and stop the increasing vibration (that he apparently knew nothing about). One would presume after charging more than $4200 for the initial job, they would take a bit more ownership of their work and try and work with their clients. Have had both their bill and work reviewed by our normal technician as well as the building technicians. Both are in process of writing a full report of their findings to submit to Dept of Fair Trading. Both also said the bill was very excessive.
