We are fully insured and guarantee all our work and materials (does not include materials supplied by customer). Most materials carry a 12 month warranty period.

My father was an electrician and was able to get me an apprenticeship with a colleague, the rest is history.

All Electrical Contractors must hold a valid Licence - always check you are using a licensed electrician - you can check online to see if the Company/Person has an "EC" number

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

I get asked a lot - "how much for a powerpoint?" Without seeing a property it's hard to give an accurate quote, you may have a two storey house, you may have metal trusses, you may have a tin roof - all these things and more can affect the cost of doing the work. The best thing is always for me to do a site inspection and and OBLIGATION FREE quote.

I have a current Police Clearance and a current Working with Children check so you can feel comfortable and safe. For many years I worked in the emergency services and am sensitive to clients needs.

These services include (but are not limited to) the installation of power points, down lights, ceiling fans, installing safety switches and smoke alarms, light fittings, maintenance, pool and spa connections, home renovations, alfresco lighting, energy saving lighting and fault finding.   Having a tradesman in your home can initially be a little awkward and uncomfortable but Brett has a current National Police Clearance, a Working With Children Check along with comprehensive insurance cover to give customers extra peace of mind. Surfside Electrical firmly believes in good communication, timeliness and leaving your home clean after completion of work.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

We will normally need to know if you have a tin or tile roof and whether you have wood or steel beams in your roof space. If you have supplied materials we may even ask you where you purchased them - only because through our experience some retail products are better than others.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

If you require trench digging - save money and do it yourself before we come, we will advise how deep and where. (Don't forget to Dial before you dig). Let us quote you for materials, we pass on our wholesale discounts and can often get downlights cheaper than you can get at retail.

If you get a quote from another electrician we are always happy to see if we can beat it or match it - we pride ourselves not only on being affordable but also the high standard of service we provide our customers.

We will always look at competitors quotes and if we can match them or better them we will. The quotes we provide are accurate and we have a policy that if the job comes in cheaper than expected we always pass that saving onto the customer.

We don't charge a call out fee and we don't charge a minimum rate. We don't charge you for the time it takes to collect materials and we don't charge travel time if you're local.

After training for my electrical licence I gained experience in the UK and Canada. Upon my return I joined the emergency services and pride myself on integrity and honesty. Customers can trust my quotes, there are no hidden costs.
