How did you decide to get into your line of work?

My father was a bullder and spent many a school holidays working with him. I worked in an office for a short time and realised that wasn't for me and much prefer being hands on.

What do you like most about your job?

I love the meeting of new people and I enjoy finishing a job that I am proud of and moving onto the next one. Not every job is the same so i enjoy that as well.

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

The client should always ask whether the trades person is fully qualified and has public liability insurance.Experience is also a valuable asset to have. How long have they been doing the work they are about to perform for you?

Most customers ask, how long will the job take? I can generally give them an idea of time, based on past experiences.Every job is different and I am flexible to work around the customers needs and timeframe.

What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?

My parents were great teachers. They had a strong work ethic and were always there for advice and help. They were communtiy based and Dad was alwayshelping others. This has been passed down to myself and my brothers.

I am reliable, honest, easy to approach and easy going. I work around what the customer wants. I have no overheads and I am price competitive. My work is professional and I have over 2O YEARS experience in the building industry

What makes your pricing competitive?

We have no overheads, which keeps our costs down. We also do no add any extra costs on top of purchased materials. We look for the best price when sorcing out materials.

How do you normally charge for your service?

We would first submit a written quotation to the customer, outlining exactly what building works we would be performing on the job. In that quotation is would also state the cost of the work involved and if a deposit  is required for materials. If the work takes longer than a week a progress payment may be required

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

I specialsie in Kitchen and laundry cabinets but also build pergolas and decking. I am currently designing and building BAR areas for outdoor swimming pools.Any small jobs I would consider also

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

I am a fully skilled carpenter with papers. I continually update myself via training courses through WORKSAFE an NMIT. I am a member of various building organisations
