We are not insured for website design, however we do guarantee our work.  You will be able to see your website develop as ongoing work is carried out, and if at any time you don't like what you see, let us know and we will work with you to rectify your issues.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I have always loved working with technology and computers.  Designing websites couples both of these passions and allows me to be creative at the same time.  I am always learning something new and it gives me great satisfaction being able to pass on that knowledge to create great affordable websites.

The local group, Caboolture Family History Research Group came to me wanting a new website.  They had allowed the daughter of one of the members to create their website, and it was a pretty amateurish affair.  It didn't meet their needs at all, but it was a great project because I gained a lot of knowledge and insight into the History of the region.

It allows me the flexibility to work from home at any time of the day.  I can create websites that cater to almost any industry and there is always something new on the horizon.

What Domain Name should I choose?  This is a question I am always getting asked. The answer isn’t all that straight forward, and opinions differ as to what constitutes a good Domain Name.  What makes a Good Domain Name?  It should reflect your Business.  So if your Business Name is “Widgets ‘R’ Us“, then perhaps you might want to use www.widgets.com.au It should contain the main KeywordinfoInfoKeywords are the words and phrases you want to rank for in search engines. Your keywords are the words or phrases that you think people will search for. Search engines index keywords that have been placed in the content of a website. This includes both text that people view and read on your website, and the text that is hidden from view in the form of meta descriptions etc. that you want to target.  ie.  If you sell “Widgets“, then the word “widget” would ideally be in there somewhere, like www.widgets4sale.com.au It should be relatively short without hyphens.  Hyphens are OK, because it will help Search Engines determine what the keywords are, but there is the potential for a visitor to omit the hyphen when typing the web address.  So I try to avoid them.  However, sometimes it is not possible and you need to use them to get the name that you want, or sometimes it just makes sense to do so.  Using the Widgets ‘R’ Us example, www.widgets-r-us.com.au makes more sense than www.widgetsrus.com.au What makes a Bad Domain Name?  Some classic bad Domain Names and Domain Names that should have seriously incorporated hypens are:  Experts Exchange is a knowledge base where programmers can exchange Advice and views at www.expertsexchange.com Looking for a pen? Look no further than Pen Island at www.penisland.net Need a therapist? Try Therapist Finder at www.therapistfinder.com Should I use a .com or .au?  Well my belief is that wherever possible, use a .com.au.  .com.au Domain Names are tightly controlled and are effectively more valuable to you and your business because not just anyone can register one.  This means that there is a degree of legitimacy straight away.  For example, if you are a scammer from the backwoods of Russia, it would be impossible to register a .com.au without having an ABNinfoInfoThe Australian business number (ABN) is a unique 11 digit identifier that makes it easier for businesses and all levels of government to interact. The ABN was introduced on 1 July 2000 to enable businesses in Australia to deal with a range of government departments and agencies using a single identification number. The ABN is a public number which does not replace your tax file number. ABN registration details become part of the Australian Business Register (ABR), which the ATO maintains on behalf of the Commonwealth. You can access the publicly available information contained in the ABR through the ABN Lookup website.

Having been in the industry since 2000, I have seen many companies come and go.  I am a sole trader and my business relies on my honesty and quality of work.  If I were untrustworthy and dishonest, I could not survive this long.

Make sure you have a clear idea of what pages you want. Make sure you have your logo in an electronic format. If it is an eCommerce website, get all your product images taken first, and if possible, optimise them for web use.
