Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we guarantee all work we do. We are also a fully insured business, with cover for both our equipment and customers. We hold an excellent public liability insurance to cover us against any on location or studio mishaps.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

Since I was little I've been in love with capturing movement and moments. Photographs have always played such an important part of my life, they are art, entertainment and memories of moments too precious to lose. You may lose people from your life, but through photographs and memories they live on forever.

What do you like most about your job?

I love giving my customers a tangible keepsake of any moment in their life that is of importance to them. I love the smiles and laughter that comes with a shoot, and I love meeting new people and learning their story.

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

When searching for a photographer there are a few important things you should do, first look through their work - they most likely have a website or online gallery. Make sure you are happy with their style and presentation. After all - first impressions matter! For larger shoots or events we also recommend having a consult with the photographer, it would be a shame to book someone who's work you love, but is an absolutely horrible person to work with. In order to get good photographs, you need to be comfortable with who you are working with. Finally, always negotiate the price and products before agreeing to have someone shoot your images. There is nothing worse than finishing a shoot and realizing at viewing you can't afford any of the prints or images on offer - especially when they turn out beautifully.

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

Customers commonly ask how we can be cheaper than our competitors and how our products are different. Our answer to this: because we are not studio based we don't have a lot of overheads, we also don't believe that memories should cost a small fortune. We want our services to be available to everyone. Our products are quality, we just use a variety of different sources to gain the best product for dollar on today's market.

We are open honest people and we pride ourselves on that. We will stand by a quote, and will ensure we are punctual. Being a small business our reputation is so important to us and we will everything in our means to keep our customers happy.

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

Customers should always go with the photographer who they are most comfortable with. Instinct is everything. At Southern Belle we aim to provide our customers with a relaxed atmosphere and confidence that we can capture their special moment. Photography is very personal, and finding the right one can be difficult. We aim to make the choice a little bit easier and make you feel great from the first meeting.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

For us to provide you with a quote we need a little bit of information: * Date * Location * Time * Style of shoot - eg couple, family, event  We will then reply with a few different package options which can be tailored to suit!

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

There are a few easy ways for a customer to save before the shoot happens:  1. Keep an eye out for specials. If we are already traveling to shoot in a certain area, we are usually able to offer shoots at a reduced price to help us fill up our calendar and make it cheaper for our customers!  2. Chose a package without prints, opting to take all your images on USB instead of prints means less work for us and less costs for you! Ideal if you know you only want one or two prints, or if you're sure which images you want printed.  3. Keep it short. Time is money! 7

What makes your pricing competitive?

Accepted Answer

Unlike many other photographers we don't run out of a studio. This allows us to keep our operating costs down. We have a home office we work from, however all of our shoots are done on location which means the final cost to our customers can be kept low as well. We also source a variety of different printers so that we can provide a product within our customers budget.

How do you normally charge for your service?

We do have a base range of charges, but ideally we like to tailor our packages to suit our customers budgets. We are flexible with what we do, and will arrange shoots that are most convenient for our customers. We also offer lay-buy and payment plans for our shoots.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

We really enjoy working with couples, and like working with our clients from the very start of their relationship, through to their engagement, wedding and children and future family life. Seeing two people mature, grow and start a life together is magical, we want them to be able to look back and reflect on that as well.

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

I've worked in customer service for a very long time, I understand the importance of selling a quality product and providing a good customer experience and my aim for my photography is to tick both of these boxes. I have also dedicated a large part of my time to constantly improving my knowledge and skills, keeping up with whats trending, and what's new in the industry.
