Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

I am insured of course and will get a job finished to the best of my ability. I don't have an express guarantee in my T's & C's but wont hand over a client without finishing the job.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

As an office manager many years ago, I was sent out to a client of my then boss to assist his book keeper with the Y2K changeover. She was impressed with how I handled the task and said that I should do this kind of thing for a living. The rest is history......

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

I had a client present to me with what he wanted completed each month. The file was a bit of a mess and needed some reconciliation prior to commencement.We completed the job within 2 days and had the first month processed as well much to his surprise.  He is a very happy and current client.

What do you like most about your job?

I have a huge variety of clients. I like the mix of business industries as I learn a lot about how to run and business (and how not to!).   There is also a huge array of personalities as well which keep us on our toes.

Are you a registered BAS Agent? (yes) Are you a qualified book keeper? (yes) This is our business type.  This is what we require from you and at this frequency or in this way.   Does it fit in with the type of clients you like to look after?

How much do I charge followed closely by 'does our book keeping present anything different to other clients you look after'? I try to offer as accurate a reply on the cost which can be difficult and there hasn't been a client who has presented me with a job I can't complete.

I am guided by my client testimonials which can be found on my website.   The general consensus is that I always have on a warm smile, am reliable, efficient and do the job well.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

What is the annual turnover of the business? Do you have staff and if so, how many?  Who will be processing and physically paying the payroll and how often? How many bank accounts and credit cards to do you have in the business?  Roughly how many transactions do you have in each account per month? Do you want us to lodge the BAS?

1. Be honest about how much work there is to do.  If we are aware of the size of the job, we can quote accurately and if our quote isn't within your budget, you can shop around. 2. Be organised: provide all paperwork to start the job and thereon in. 3. Respond to queries quickly.

The first month book keeping is FREE when you accept Small b Accounts as your ongoing book keeper.    This is limited to 1 bank account and 1 credit card account in your Xero file.  Additional bank accounts or credit cards are charged out at $49 each to reconcile in that first month.

What makes your pricing competitive?

That is a hard question because what I may call expensive, a client may call cheap and vice versa.  I send through a proposal and it is then up to the client to accept or reject.

How do you normally charge for your service?

We use set monthly billing for regular clients.  All work is quoted prior to commencement and the costs are outlined to ensure that there are no surprises.  If the work load is a great deal more than anticipated, we advise the client immediately and revise the quote.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

I enjoy receiving a file from a client which needs a lot of reconciling to get it up to date. I like setting up a new business on Xero, especially if the client requires an Add-On from the Xero market place. Having a wide variety of clients, each Xero file I work on presents a new challenge each day.

I have owned and run my business for over 15 years.  I have the skills to create a great working relationship with my clients, I am a qualified book keeper, a registered BAS Agent and am Xero Certified.  I am also a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians.
