Frequently asked questions
What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?
How long will it take for my carpet to dry? Dry Carpet Cleaning / VLM carpet cleaning – can walk on the carpet immediately. Completely dry within 1-2 hours Steam Cleaning (Hot Water Extraction) – drying time generally around 6-8 hours. Not recommended to walk on barefoot as it may leave oil spots. Soil from the shoes can also be transferred to the freshly cleaned carpet. We will provide you with shoe covers to eliminate the possibility of re-soiling. What is the VLM (very low moisture) Cleaning method? VLM (very low moisture) carpet cleaning is a half-way between the hot-water extraction technique (aka steam carpet cleaning) and dry carpet cleaning. It allows the fibres to dry to their natural state in a very short period of time. Compared to traditional methods – dirt does not stick easily to the carpets that have been cleaned using our VLM technique, which means that the carpets stay cleaner for longer. With each vacuuming session, your carpet will appear more fresh and clean. After the job is complete, you can walk on your carpets straight away and they will be completely dry within 1-2 hours. Would you recommend steam cleaning or dry (VLM) cleaning? This largely depends on the type of your carpet, the nature of soiling and how soon you need to be able to use the carpet. We recommend that you alternate between the 2 cleaning methods every 6 months to get the benefits of both and maximise the life of your carpet. Some carpet cleaning firms are cheaper. Why is that? We have built our business on our quality work. We do not use "bait and switch" as part of our sales strategy. Our price is reflective of the top quality work, equipment and materials used when we clean. Quality cleaning and care extends the life of your carpet, while poor quality cleaning can leave behind residues and harm your investment. What's your guarantee for the job? We use the highest standards in the industry in terms of products, equipment and expertise. If you are not 100% satisfied with the result, we will return and review the work carried out, at no charge to you. If necessary, we will re-do the job. How soon can I have a technician come out to my house? Depending on the availability of technicians, we will schedule an appointment at your earliest convenience (you will also be offered a selection of available timeslots on our “Book Now” page). Usually we are able to dispatch someone the same day or the following day. If you do require same day service, please contact us over the phone. I have allergies and am worried if the chemical that you use will bother me? The solutions that we use are non-toxic and are safe for people with allergies, children and pets. Carpets and furniture can harbour soil and other contaminates. Properly cleaning your carpet and furniture will remove the built up soil and contaminates to improve indoor air quality and reduce allergens. What are those tabs that you put under my furniture? They are protective coasters and are there to protect your carpet from rust or furniture stains. You should wait until your carpet is completely dry before removing them. What should I do after my carpet has been cleaned? Immediately after cleaning: Floors can be slippery after cleaning. Be careful when walking from the carpet to a hard surface until the carpet is thoroughly dry. Remove any blocks or tabs after 24 hours. Vacuum the carpet any time after a 24-hour period. Will all of the spots come out? We treat all spotted areas with the most professional techniques available today. However, we cannot guarantee their complete removal. Many agents affect carpet dyes and spots set in, if not blotted up immediately. Can you remove pet odour from my carpet? Pet odour is a very common problem that often turns out to be much more complex than initially thought. Pet urine can easily soak through the backing of the carpet into the padding underneath. In more severe cases, the urine can penetrate into the sub-floor beneath the padding. This creates a more complicated problem, because the urine provides for the growth of bacteria. This, in turn, worsens the odour problem and can contribute to permanent colour loss of carpet fibres. To eliminate this problem, the urine must be removed or neutralised from each of the layers affected. If the contamination is limited to only the face yarn of the carpet, then the cleaning itself may effectively remove the odour. In more severe cases, a urine neutraliser may be applied. In the most severe of cases, replacement of the carpet padding, and treatment of the under-side of the carpet and sub-floor may be required. What is Clean Trust? The Clean Trust was established in the US in 1972 to provide a means by which professionals could receive industry training and become certified. Today, it is recognised as the impartial certification body for the inspection, cleaning and restoration industry. Independent and franchise professionals worldwide are tested through The Clean Trust. The Clean Trust has been operating as the IICRC in Australia and New Zealand since the 1990s and now has over 1000 registrants qualified in a wide range of skills. Increasingly insurance companies and tenderers are requiring cleaners and restorers to be The Clean Trust/IICRC-registered in order to meet the criteria for the tender.
