How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I do oil painting as hobby and when my friend asked me to accompany her to one of her gigs, I got interested.  We then attended workshops together and had training sessions.  From there, I decided to pursue the interest.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

I have many stories to tell but if there is one, this  would be when I did a face painting job with party games in a Doctor's conference in Daylesford.  On the way there was a challenge because it was raining and dark.   The doctors brought  their wives and children in the conference .  I was hired to entertain the children while the conference is going on, from 6pm to 10pm.  I brought with me 2 other performers to cater for 25 children aging from 2 to 15 yrs old.  It was a complete blast.  Everyone had face painting and we played games until 11.30 pm as no one wanted to stop.  The last hour of our games, the parents could not resist the fun so they  joined us.  I got home 1.30 in the morning but  I was  in high spirit.

What do you like most about your job?

Its fun. Its not stressful.  I enjoy being around children, and  making them happy. Party games is my favourite as I also participate in the games whilst conducting it.

This is a very tricky question and I dont think there is a way to get the right answer.  SOmetimes customer just get the feel and they just have to trust their gut feeling. And if there is 1 question that I can think of, that would be "How long have you been in this service?"

Customers would just normally provide positive comments.  Others would ask the price staright away. My answer would be " it varies depending on what you require. So let me know what you and I will provide you some costing".

I am a professional and works in a corporate environment so I manage this business similar to the business that I am working for.  I am punctual and so are my other performers.  We arrive at the location 30 minutes before the scheduled time and we finish as agreed.

Normally, I ask the following questions to be able to provide a proper quote and/or customize a quote: 1.  date and time and duration of the event/occassion 2.  number of children 3.  ages of the children 4.  if it is an outdoor or indoor activity

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

1.  As our cost is on hourly basis , plan ahead. 2.  For birthdays, ensure that the start time booked is when most of the children would have arrived. 3.  Ensure that there is enough space/area  to set up materials (face painting table and  at least 2 chairs) and enough space for children to move around.

Our pricing is competitive because customers will get value for their money.  In our internal process, we have added extras to our services with  no additional cost to our clients. Special requests are usually accomodated with very little cost or no cost at all.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Upon the client making a booking/reservation, I would require a $ 30 deposit, deposited in our bank account either via internet banking or manual deposit.  Balance is to be paid in cash on completion of work on the day of the appointment.  Invoice is issued .

In the entertainment area, we specialize in face painting using high quality face paint. All painting products are made in Australia, hypo allergenic and self moisturizing. We also specialize in party games.  All games conducted come with prizes.  Our automotive area specializes in classic and vintage car restoration.

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

My skills have been acquired  through attending face painting courses and  on the job training.  Experience have been obtained through working with promotional activities in shopping centres and stores in Melbourne such as Bunnings, McDonalds, Fitness centres, Roxburg park Shopping Centre, Footy Matches, Puffing Billy to name a few.
