The first 2 are easy,  Are you licenced with the BSA and Master Builders? Do you have insurance? Have you done my type of Project before? What is the best way to do the Solid Plastering? What happens if the Render cracks or peels?

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

Q. Why has the Solid Render cracked? A. Render gets harder with age and is less elastic. All buildings, walls or even letter boxes move during hot and cold days and if they move enough, the Render cracks. Q. What can i do to stop cracks? A. The only other thing is to cut the cracks out and patch, then paint again. I try to use a polymer render as that has some flex but the old render can crack in a new place.

What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?

For thirty years, I make a deal and shake hands. I do BSA contract the same way.  If I make a mistake, that is not your problem.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

Do not try to clean or remove paint before I see the job - if you do it wrong, I charge you more to fix your help. Make sure I can get safely to the area where I need do the quote and then the work. Be clear on what you want and keep it simple - let me advise you on different ways of doing it.

What makes your pricing competitive?

Most of the work I do is for Building Companies that build a lot of houses and commercial buildings. I give my customers the same rates I give them.  Easy jobs are less by the m2, hard jobs by the hour.

How do you normally charge for your service?

I will give you a price for the job depending on the render type. I include, preparation, wall repair, the end finish, painting if required and project cleanup including dumping fees. If you can do some of the work, let me know and i can adjust the price.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

1/ Rendering over Polystyrene, Blueboard and other special building materials needs a special system. I can do a base coat, fibre mesh, second coat and even a full colour Topcoat that does not need painting. All walls must have expansion joints cut in. 2/ White Set a very special finish Internal brick, block and stone walls are rendered first then the White Set is applied The walls are left shiny smooth and can be painted to give an amazing finish. Few Plasterers know how to do this European finish.
