I apologise this review is going to be a novel, But if you take something from it PLEASE DON'T HIRE ROD. I hired Rod to start work on Friday 30th July 2021. It was organised that the site would be prepared Friday and poured Saturday. He organised concrete and I organised a concrete pump. Day1: Rod was 2 hours late and didn't answer my phone calls. When he arrived he bought 2xchildren and 1xyoung fella I gave Rod $2000 and he left with the young fella to order materials. The children stayed and dug out one of the areas for the work. At 1pm they all sat around waiting for materials, which didn't start arriving until about 3pm. From here they laid 6T of blue metal dust and formed up one of two walls required before leaving. Rod ensured me that they would be back at 7.30 because they were so far behind. Day 2: The next morning I ran a string line and found areas that were only 25mm deep (100mm slab being laid). Rod was 1.5 hours late. They quickly fixed areas I identified and formed the other wall (which was not in the correct spot) and laid some steel. Pumpies arrived and pumped concrete. 10 minutes into watching the 'concreters' screed, they took over the job, they pumped, screeded, and raked the entire job. Whilst screeding they had to cut out HEAPS of the steel that was stick up pass laid concrete. Rod and his 'concreters' stood around smoking and watching the pumpies do their job. One of the 16yo finished the front driveway slab, which looked horrible. Not happy with the job I rang another local concreter who came straight away and took over finishing both slabs. Whilst he worked Rod and his concreters again just stood around smoking. Rod said he will come on Monday to clean and cut the slabs as required. Monday Rod did not turn up. I rang Rod and told him not to bother. I am left with storm water drains full of concrete where Rod's team cleaned their tools, Concrete splashes all over external walls and stairs, and cigarette butts everywhere. I am also left to remove pegs, timbers, and concrete paddies from the pump myself. DON'T HIRE THIS COWBOY. I've spoken with a few concreters who inform me he was a good concreter years ago, but had a car accident. I can guarantee you, he is no longer a concreter and does not have the capability to be a concreter anymore.
Unique selling points
I am a professional Concreter and I believe that when I do a job it should be done with the experience of a professional Concretor.
