Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

Yes i am fully insured with GIO and guarantee all walks if there is ever any issues. References are also available from prior and existing clients at any time if you need or would prefer to get some feedback on my experiences with clients animals.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I started studying as a teacher and needed some part time work.  An opportunity arose for me, I took it, and I then started my own pet care business.

I have been called by dog walkers to take on dogs that they are not interested in. I took over this business 4 years ago and all of my dogs were walked on lead. Within 3 months i trained 20 dogs to walk off lead and to come on demand. I have trained puppies and difficult dogs to stay with the pack with a simply whistle and a voice command.

What do you like most about your job?

Working with animals very rewarding. I love working out their individual personalities, finding them suitable playmates, taking them swimming and walking in the rain and finding puddles to run through. I love that everyday is different and we can walk in any park we chose and not be limited to fenced parks. I will not take your dog to an enclosed fenced area unless specified by you! All dogs in my care are trained to be free to play and have fun with their pack at all times.

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

Where do your dogs walks, how many dogs per walk, what types of dogs do you have in your groups, do you group dogs to suite each other, are the dogs vaccinated, are any dogs aggressive towards particular types of dogs, do you walk dogs on lead or are they free to run and play... are they taken to 'enclosed fenced off park'?

Where do I walk dogs? I walk them in non-fenced parks where they are free to play, chase balls, swim and socialise within their pack groups. Do I take them swimming? Of course dogs love swimming!!

My business is based completely on trust because as far i am concerned I am looking after your 'child' simple as that! I am at all times constantly aware of our surroundings and any potential danger that may be present. Safety is my main concern whilst providing a fun and happy environment for your dog at a number of parks around Sydney.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

Accepted Answer

Location, age, breed, sex, vaccinations, temperament, number of walks required, time of the day the walk is requested and days of walks. Are the dogs socialised and friendly.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

I offer a trail week (two walks maximum - to the value of $50) to all new clients. This offer is valid for walks in the first week only.

Are there any special offers you would like to offer to Oneflare customers?

I offer the first week trial for all new clients (max 2 walks in the first week to the value of $50 free). This allows the owner, animal and myself to assess each other and to establish which group the dog is best suited.

What makes your pricing competitive?

Dogs are matched to suitable groups on a daily basis. There are a maximum of dogs per walk with two people at times if needed. Our pricing sits within the average price for dog walking businesses.  Note: When looking for a walker price should not be the focus... care and experience is what is important!

How do you normally charge for your service?

Clients can pay for walks either per week or per fortnight depending on their preference. Clients are invoiced via email and direct debited into the business account.

My partner is an experienced vet nurse and continues to work in the field of animal medicine keeping us both up too date on animal care.

I have been working in the pet industry for 5 years. My partner works full-time in animal medicine field and also works part time at a local vet clinic for the love of it.
