Yes we are fully insured and police checked with full care, custody and control insurance meaning your pet is covered from the moment we pick them up and put them in the van to the moment they walk back into your house. We guarantee to turn up on time, EVERY time so you can rest assured your pet is being looked after.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

After getting made redundant from a long term office job it made me realise that there had to be more to life and to explore my passion for animals. Having and looking after animals all my life gave me so much joy that I decided to seek out a job that would let me share this passion and improve the lives of pets and clients at the same time.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

Something that tends to happen quite a lot is that when I turn up at a customers house the dog will recognise the sound of the car and go completely bonkers! Often the client will mention they have never seen them behave like that before. Sometimes when I am at the park a client will be with their dog over the other side and the dog will see me and sprint over full speed and refuse to go back to them. It's very embarrassing but very sweet.

The joy we get from bonding with your dogs and cats, the warm experiences and funny moments, which make this the best job in the world! Getting to spend time outdoors earning the trust and friendship of people's animals and knowing I am making them happy and content.

Are you insured and police checked?  Will it actually be you walking my dog or someone else? If someone else who?  What experience and qualifications do you have?  Do you have full insurance, please tell me the details of cover?  How many dogs do you walk at a time?  How long do you walk them for?

Do you go out in all weather?  Petmates is very used to varying types of weather, rain does not phase us and we will always take your dog out. However, special considerations will be made during adverse weather ensuring your pets well-being (e.g. shaded / water areas), rest assured they will always be cared for. Fresh water is provided for your dogs in our vehicle.

We are one of the longest established pet care companies on the Northern Beaches. Our dog walking service is different as we only walk small groups of four dogs that are all matched for temperament. With our cat minding service we guarantee a full half hour visit including lots of love, cuddles and play time!

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

For dog walking we need to know the breed, age and sex of the dog, how often you want walking and what time of day. We also need to know their temperament and things they like or do not like. For cate minding we need to know the dates you want covered, how many visits a day, what food they like or need, any medication and again what they like and do not like.

All our process are fixed per walk. The great thing is you do not have to do anything. We will meet you and go through everything we need to know about your dog before the first walk and from then you can simply leave it up to us to give you a happ, tired and contented dog!

We offer a discounted rate to OneFlare customers if they book more than a certain number of walks or visits per day or week. We also offer a discount to first time customers so they can see how good we are!

What makes your pricing competitive?

We charge the same price as most other dog walking companies, the difference is we only walk a maximum of four dogs in any one walk. This means your dog spends less time in the van and more time at the park. It also means they are not cooped up too long with a load of other dogs in a hot van.

Dog walking is charged per walk and cat minding is charged per visit. You can get a discount if you book more that a certain number of walks or visits per day / week.

We specialise in small compatible dog walks with a maximum of four dogs (which is the legal limit for a dog walker) ensuring full care and attention. Our dogs are assessed and matched for compatibility to ensure they are happy and comfortable.We guarantee a full hours dog walk every time.

We have over 10 years experience cat minding and dog walking and have had dogs our entire life. I have A-Grade Alpha Certified in Canine Behaviour and Training (theory and practical) by Sarah Whitehead; International Lecturer & Pet Behaviour Counsellor in Dog Behaviour & Training, Advanced award in practical dog handling skills from Centre of Applied Pet Ethology, Double grade distinction in animal behaviour and handling as part of Wildlife Habitat Management BTEC diploma. We are fully Insured including Public Liability to $5 million and Care, Custody & Control First Aid Trained Complete Background & Police Checked
