Yes I am and I do.  As a full time celebrant I have the time and energy to put into your ceremony.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I just saw an ad in the paper for a TAFE course to become a celebrant and as I love talking and meeting people I thought what a wonderful happy job this could be for me.  And it has turned out to be the most rewarding job I've ever had.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

I have many beautiful, sad and some very funny stories.  I love talking and during our interview I usually pass on a few of these, but it depends on the couple which stories I tell!!

The fact that a) I'm meeting new people at one of the most happiest times of their lives.  b) And just being a part of this is very rewarding for me. c) Then on the day meeting their families and finally saying John you may now kiss your bride....

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

Accepted Answer

You should always meet your celebrant first to make sure they are the right type of person for you.  But if you are just interviewing them first, please always make sure that you tell the celebrant this.  also have all your paper work with you, if you click with the celebrant (which I'm sure we would) then your legal paper work can then be done immediately which then secures the day and time for your ceremony.

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

Most common question is from the bride.... What do you wear??  I have a very extensive wardrobe that would suit any style of ceremony.  I always ask my brides what color their bridesmaids are wearing so as I do not wear the same color and therefore I do not blend in.  I've even had brides look through my wardrobe to choose what they'd like me to wear.  I'm proud of my wardrobe and I always try to look my very best for all my brides, it doesn't matter whether the ceremony is in a paddock or a 5 star venue.

What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?

The couples personal information is locked in a secure cabinet as required by law.  I have never been late ever for a ceremony, I arrive a minimum 1/2 hour before the time set by the couple to set up and be ready for any last minute hitches.

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

I am a full time celebrant and I will always have the time to spend with you on any issues to do with your ceremony.  I keep my prices reasonable by asking where possible for you to come to me to do your legal paper work, this way it goes direct into my computer program and you get to check immediately for any errors as this is legal paper work it must be perfect.

Accepted Answer

Talking to other celebrants before making your final decision.   The price may not mean more expensive is the best...  As a full time celebrant I'm available day or evenings 7 days a week.

What makes your pricing competitive?

I do not charge for extras.  Such as you get the use of my PA system to play your entrance music on.  I can provide the table and chairs for the signing of the register.  I leave a file to help you choose your own personal ceremony from.  And a give you a binded printed copy of your ceremony to keep.

How do you normally charge for your service?

My charges range between $350 and $650  $350 for a wedding in my office/home $450 for a weekday wedding in the metro area $550 for weekend weddings $650 for weekend wedding that includes travelling

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

I really only do weddings.  I cry at funerals so I would be useless there.....  Christenings I also do not do, I can't bring myself to charge for something that is not legal...

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

I've been a full time celebrant for over 8 years and have done over 500 ceremonies.  I feel by now that I've experienced every type of ceremony possible and have become an expert at last minute hick ups.
