I have an incredible bond with my clients and I've often thought if I was independently wealthy I would just do it for the love of it. My new husband of 6 months said I should write a book after all the laughter he hears coming from the room. But my motto is "What is said in the salon stays in the salon."Haha. All my clients are priceless.

What do you like most about your job?

I think the best thing about my job is making people feel good about them selves, some have maybe had a rough trot and coming for a bit of TLC and a good chat makes both of us feel great. Or they may be getting ready for their big day and the bridal party comes for a pamper a giggle and maybe a champers and nibbles, what's not to like about my job??.

I think as soon as you have the initial contact with the service provider they will get a spence of wether this person is a good fit for you. Never be afraid to ask questions, this should be a truly enjoyable experience. You deserve the best, so just go with the professional that makes you feel special.

I think customers are becoming more savvy about the products you use, this is why I choose not to purchase them online, your never sure if its the real deal. I use MAC makeup, I purchase it from the MAC store in Chapel St, and all my beauty product I purchase from Salon first in Burwood. All the products are top quality from Shellac Creative, Opi, to tanning products such as Tuscan tan that only takes 2 hours to process, no orange over tones and certainly no streaks.

What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?

One of the reasons why my clients love to return is they know I will be flexible with my appointments. I know how difficult it can be with work commitments, children and oh course husbands to work your beauty needs around so I will always endeavour to find an appointment time that is suitable for you. I have been doing brides for over 30 years and never let them down on their special day, I will guarantee to arrive on time, have you and your bridal party look flawless and photo ready.

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

Because experience is paramount in the Beauty /Bridal industry, you can not afford to trust someone with little or no experience and perhaps serious hygiene issues when there are alternatives. There is so much that can go wrong in the beauty industry, I think over a period of time of heard of them all so please just be careful before securing an artist for your big event or simply for your beauty services.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

Most of my prices are very competitive, but some jobs may take more product and a longer period of time. However most prices are fairly standard.  FOR WEDDING DAY: I need to know how many girls, where your leaving from, if its hair and makeup or just one of them and very important time you all need to be ready for photographer.

There has been a lot a competition in the beauty industry over the past number of years, but I think the fact that most of my customers have been coming to me for over 20 years speaks volumes about the service and quality of the workmanship. My business is more than an income to me it's my life, I love my customers and I love my work, hopefully this shines through when you are greeted at the beginning of your Perfect Bliss experience.

My prices are extremely competitive, because its a home based salon you won't be charged the exorbitant prices as compared to a salon . Cash and direct credit is payment excepted.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

Makeup is probably this aspect that I'm most passionate about, I would average about 2-3 weddings a weekend so it's a good thing I do enjoy it so much. My daily work would consist of waxing and nail and oh course eyelash extensions and tanning. I love to see someone's confidence soar when they have had a service done that makes them feel better about themselves.

Hi my name is Deborah, I have been in the beauty and makeup business for over 25 years. Starting in the beauty business as a senior artist for some of the worlds leading cosmetic houses, and head trainer at Melbourne Collage of Hair and Beauty.  I specialised in weddings and love working with my wonderful brides. All of whom appreciate the flawless Finnish of the airbrush makeup that is used on the cat walk, red carpet events and fashion shoots.
