Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

We are insured for the public liability sum of $5 million. We always stand behind and guarantee our work. In the unlikely case of a problem with the work performed, we would re-visit ASAP to sort out the problem.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

Ben was always of an inquisitive mind as a younger person, and wondered how things worked in general. Being more academic at school, but also good with his hands, the electrical trade always appealed. So when he was offered an apprenticeship, everything just sort of fell into place. David on the other hand, was also quite academic, but had a very good knowledge of all things computers. Couple that with a very good mechanical mind, and he was always bound for the electrical trade too.

What do you like most about your job?

We both like the challenge of the electrical trade, in coming up with the right solution for the customer's job. Fault finding is always a challenge that we look forward too generally. Also the satisfaction that comes with completing a job with high quality etc.

Q. How much is this work going to cost? A. We always try to give an approximate cost. Q. When will you be available to do the work? A. We will organise our day/week and let the customer know by phone ASAP. Q. How do I pay you? A. Direct deposit, cheque or cash.

Being upfront with the customer is the best thing we can do as Electrical Contractors. Also as said above, good communication and fulfilling our promises always gets us repeat work.

We believe that we are very competitively priced compared to other electrical companies out there. We always have and will continue to keep our promises to the customer. We stand behind and guarantee our skills and workmanship at all times.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

When it comes to new power points or lights for example, it is very handy to know the length of any cable runs and perhaps even the general constuction of the house ie. cavity brick, timber studs etc. Just a very good description of the scope of works helps very much as well.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

1. In general, it is suggested that the customer does not purchase their own materials, as they may not be up to the same quality that we can source ourselves. But in the case of purchasing their own ceiling fans for example, the customer could assemble the fans themselves. 2. Also a good tip would be to move anything out of the way from where any work is to be done before we turn up as this could save valuable time. 3. Give the best description of requested works over the phone, so we can have a good idea of what the work entails, therefore a suitable plan will be in our heads before we even arrive.

We offer very good prices on ceiling fan installations, as we can purchase our materials at very good prices. Just ask us for a quote. We also perform appliance repair work (ovens etc), that is cheaper than getting a specialist company out to repair damaged appliances

What makes your pricing competitive?

Our hourly rate is $65 per hour per man. We know that this is a competitive price to charge compared to most other electricians out there. We generally don't even charge a call out fee if the job is not an urgent one.

How do you normally charge for your service?

We normally complete the works requested and send the invoice by mail or email, allowing the customer to have up to a week or so to pay for the work. This also gives the customer the time to ensure that the work is done to the expected quality.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

Not in particular, we perform most aspects of the electrical industry and perform them to the best of our ability. We do all aspects of residential work, including new socket outlets, installation of ceiling fans and lighting points, as well as switchboard work. We also do a lot of underground power work for electric sliding gates and lighting/intercoms on front fences etc.

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

Both David and I have a combined experience in the electrical field of over 18 years. We both excelled in our training to become electricians. We are fully licenced and insured in two States, and are always willing to travel for work. We hold licences for data communications etc. We also have very good communication skills when it comes to dealing with our customers, we always listen to them and strive to do the best work possible.
