Yes we have public liability insurance. We guarantee to perform all work requested and paid for: when we send you a quote you'll be provided with our comprehensive Terms & Conditions which ensures both you and Mydesigner end up with what we've agreed upon.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

It's in the blood. My grandfather was a printer and was passionate about his craft. I was brought up with an appreciation of design, typography and art. When I left school it's all I wanted to do. The hard bit was leaving the comfort of employment to start my own business, but once I did I never looked back! I love the personal interaction with my clients.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

Our favourite customers are those we've worked with over many years. One of these is Speedental - we were asked to rebrand their business in 2006. From a conservative face emerged a bright, friendly, engaging brand that was immediately successful in terms of recognition and gaining new and more regular clientele. Over the years we have created a large range of promotional and educational material (including the website), always maintaining the brand's personality. Occasionally we revisit the idea of updating/renewing but the strength and freshness of the original design has ensured longevity and retained customer (and staff) loyalty. Not only are they a great client to work with, it's a success story I'm very proud of.

What do you like most about your job?

Variety! The best part of this job is the interaction with people from a huge pool of industries - there is never a dull day! We are always learning in-depth about different products, events, programs and organisations. The people who drive these have their own passions and interests - it's a privilege to be invited to explore, develop and promote our clients’ projects.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

You'll be sent a briefing checklist to begin with - this helps you to gather information prior to our initial meeting where we'll discuss your requirements in more detail. Some of the things we ask are: tell us about your company? what are your requirements? who are your competitors? what is your desired result?

1. Be clear about your desired outcome, eg. purpose, desired response, financial gain 2. Research what your competitors are doing and gather examples of things that you think are successful/unsuccessful 3. Set yourself a budget and discuss this with your designer to ensure it's realistic

If you're a not-for-profit or charity organisation we offer a 10% discount on all our services, including on-services such as printing and marketing material. For large-scale projects talk to us about a regular payment plan which may also attract a discount.

Our quoting policy is very transparent - there are no hidden extras. We are very thorough in the initial briefing stages so your intended outcome is clear, the design process efficient and your deadlines are met.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

Initially we discuss your requirements, desired outcome and budget. We provide a detailed estimate which must be agreed upon and accepted by the client, and an upfront payment of 50% is made prior to any work commencing. If the scope of work exceeds this quote, the client is advised of additional costs as soon as possible and before we continue. Our policy is that if we go ahead and do the work anyway, the extra time spent is yours free.

We’re passionate about helping people who help others. It is most rewarding for us too. Many of our current clients are not-for-profits and charity organisations so we understand how they operate and continue to strive to meet specific needs.

With over 25 years experience, Cinta began working in the dark ages on one of the first Apple Macs! Trained in Visual Communication, she developed a deep understanding of design via hands-on practices and computer graphics, always keeping abreast of the latest technology. She set up her first business in 1994, realising that the best results come from direct and full communication with the client. She has employed many people over the years and enjoys building and working with a good strong focused team.
