Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

Accepted Answer

Yes our workshop is insured and we guarantee all of our labour for 3 months as per Australian law. If there is an issue relating to our labour we provide full warranty, although this usually never happens we are aware of the possibility due to many different complications or factors.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

We have loved cars since before we were old enough to drive and have been working on them ever since, there really was no decision it just happened!

We have many stories of customers coming to us after being stuffed around and overcharged by any number of mechanics, unfortunately this is a common problem in the industry. Our customers often cannot believe the prices for the work we do compared to what they have previously paid elsewhere.

We are car lovers and enthusiasts so we love what we do.  This makes working on other peoples cars a rewarding experience, and we enjoy getting the job done and solving your problems so that you can enjoy your car as much as we enjoy working on them.

Ensure that the person you are hiring is qualified to work on the item you need fixed. This relates to things LPG testing, Aircon gassing etc In the case that we don't have the required specific qualification we will outsource to a trade partner who does.

Customers ask us "How long can I leave this issue before repairing it?" We cannot in good faith give you a solid answer to this, some people may get 10000kms and some may get 10kms, the answer is how much of a risk you want to take and if you can afford to have it fail in the near future :(

At Motowerks we talk to you straight and are always upfront and honest about all of the costs involved for labour and parts. If the job takes longer due to complications or costs exceed what we initially quoted you, we will always consult you before continuing. This way there are no surprise bills.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

We need to know the year, make and model of your vehicle as well as specifics such as: Transmission type Auto/Manual? Engine/Fuel type  Petrol/LPG/Diesel? Previous relevant repairs or work done? Previous issues relating to the job? Timeframe? (after hours or weekends will incur an extra charge)

Describing your problem in detail, notifying us of all symptoms any noises etc Ensuring your car interior is clean and not full of rubbish. Ensuring the car is fueled and tires pumped up, this helps us with diagnosing your issue efficiently.

We charge around half the hourly rate of the average commercial workshop, with less bullshit and honest language you can understand. We stand by our work and take pride in fixing your problems and saving you money over the long term by diagnosing faults before they cost you an arm and a leg.

We charge a very reasonable rate per hour, upon completion, plus parts cost. Will beat any genuine quote, No fix No charge.

Specialising in custom upgrades/fabrication, as well as tuning for both Cars and Motorcycles. We can build an engine or whole vehicle to suit street or track.
