The night before a client presentation or a final design handover, the adrenalin and satisfaction I feel is amazing. What keeps me enthusiastic is the wonderful comments of appreciation from happy clients. It is such a pleasure to improve the living or working spaces for people.

I am the owner, head designer and project manager on all of my jobs. If my clients are not happy I don't get paid, therefor integrity and reliability are an integral part of Morr Interiors business ethos.

I am the owner, head designer and project manager on all of my jobs. I keep my business small to ensure a personal and quality service is provided to every client. There is a big difference between a designer that tells a client what they should want and need to a designer that will listen to what a client wants and needs. I like to think I am the latter.  Morr Interiors strive to provide every client with a quality end result by ensuring the design process is well managed and keeping the lines of communication very clear between the client, designer and other consultants.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

To provide an accurate quote a client and site visit is required, however, an estimate quote can be provided if the client can assist with answering the following questions, 1. Is the job residential or commercial? 2. Is it only interior work or will it incl external building work? 3. Where is the job? 4. When would you like to start construction / fitout? 5. Are there any other design contractors you have already engaged? 6. Describe the job, e.g new kitchen, demolish few walls and build a pergola, new furniture in my bedroom. 7. Provide a detailed list of items you want, e.g kitchen to incl cost effective finishes and cater to 4 people, quality furniture incl king bed & wardrobe in bedroom. 8. A style or design you like, maybe a link to a picture you have seen you like.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

3 tips for client who want to save money prior to starting work with Morr Interiors are; 1. Find dimensioned existing floor plans from your local council or do them yourself 2. Write a client brief, this should include the items or areas you want improved, the feel and look of your vision (this could incl magazine images). 3. Know how much you want to spend. A clear budget makes it easier for designers to work with you from the start. This way there is no confusion or time wasted.

Are there any special offers you would like to offer to Oneflare customers?

Morr Interiors offer clients an initial client and site visit for $250 compared to a normal fee of $500. This can be organized during the day, evening or even the weekend.

What makes your pricing competitive?

Our clients have the benefit of a scaled pricing structure. Morr Interiors hourly fees range from $77 for basic client liaison to $132 for creative schematics. We believe this is a fair and transparent way of pricing as the client does not have to pay a high price for simple administration duties. Annual checks of the industry standard are performed to ensure Morr Interiors hourly and fixed sum pricing is competitive.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Morr Interiors cater your financial and project needs. We can arrange an hourly fee or a fixed sum. A client and site meeting is required to assess how to structure your project fees.  Hourly fees range from $88 to $132 depending on the work performed. A fixed sum can vary from 5% - 15% of the construction cost.

Bayley Muirhead graduated from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Interior Architecture and a Design Institute of Australia 2003 Award for Excellence. Bayley's experience includes 10 years in the industry ranging from Interior Architecture creative design, documentation, project management, furniture design and client contract management.
