I do have up to date public liability and business insurance. I have a Police Criminal History Check. I can guarantee that I will provide loving and practical hands on quality care of your pet or pets.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

It all started when a work friend asked me to care for her cat. I had always been interested and involved in animals since a child growing up in the country. I worked in the racing industry for years, both on studs and in racing stables. I used to train dogs for my friends, and shifting into pet care became a natural transition, starting first as a hobby!

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

Working and caring for pets is never a dull moment. My most recent unusual experience was when I unexpectedly oversaw the birth of a litter of puppies. My client had no idea her pappillon, Merry was pregnant. Merry had no problems giving birth and was a great mum, however she did suffer a severe calcium deficiency and very nearly died. I then had to wean the pups and bottle feed them when they were only a few days old, so Merry and her new family came home with me for over a week, until my client came back from holidays.

What do you like most about your job?

Animals.Animals.Animals.  I love working with and being around animals. I have a horde of my own and have so much love, patience and care to give.  Each and every pet has their own personality. I love getting to know their quirks and ways. Pets really are so much fun.

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

1) Does Moreton Bay Pet Care come to my home to care for our pets? Answer:  Yes I do. Almost always. On occasion if a pet owner has a young puppy, or a very senior dog I will take them into my home while my customer is away.  2) How much does it cost? Answer: Depends on where my customer is and how long my customer will be away for. Standard Daily rate is $22 per day based on visiting once a day. I also offer reduced rates for twice daily visits. But I have weekly and monthly rates too! 3) Can you walk my dog too? Yes. I always take the dogs for a 15 minute power walk within their local neighbourhood. I DO NOT take them to dog parks and they are securely leashed at all times. If my client does not want me to walk their dog/s then that is OK too. If my clients require a longer walking period then an extra charge does apply. I can walk 3 small or toy dogs at one time or 2 medium or large dogs at one time.

I rarely advertise my services as I often get more than I can handle just through word of mouth. I am professional but very loving towards your furry/feathered family. I do not just 'feed and go'. I take time out to give each pet personal care and attention.

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

Simple. I don't just care or feed your pets, I give them lots of love too.  I really think I am one of the best pet carers out there!  I keep you updated whilst you are away. I monitor their health and well-being and give them heaps of attention.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

Location. Number of pets. I charge per household, not per pet, up to and including 4 pets. If you have more than 4 pets, the additional charge is $1 per pet per day, added to your daily or weekly rate.

1) Book a minimum of 4 weeks in advance and get 5% discount. 2) Pay Deposit of 25% on finalization of booking my services and also receive a 5% discount. 3) Going away for 28 days or longer? Get 3 days free!

I look after all animals. I offer discounts to pensioners and concession card holders. If you finalise your booking with Moreton Bay Pet Care 4 weeks in advance you receive a 5% discount.

My pricing is competitive because one of my main aims was to make quality and loving in-home pet care affordable for everyone. That is why I offer discounts not only to pension card holders, but also to those receiving centrelink benefits.  Moreton bay Pet Care offers monthly, weekly and daily rates. I do not charge per pet, but per household, up to and including 4 pets.

How do you normally charge for your service?

I have monthly, weekly and daily rates available. I generally leave an invoice at the end of my service, or if preferred, Moreton Bay Pet Care can send via email.  Meet'n'Greet consultation is free!

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

I care for pets of all kinds. I offer dog walking, and health assessments. I can provide dietary advice. Dogs receive a short walk of 15-30 minutes or exercise that is tailored to their age, breed and individual needs. I also offer dog walking as a separate service.  Horses. Horses. Horses.  I have many years experience with horses and used to compete across a range of disciplines. I have an extensive knowledge base and am a very good rider.

I have been handling, training and working with animals of all kinds for 30 years. I have a Cert.I. in Animal Studies.  Animals like me and I love them!
