Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

Our firm has professional indemnity insurance however, no legal firm can ever guarantee an outcome in a client's matter. There are too many possible variables, human nature being what it is.  We can only advise of the client's options to the best of our ability so that the client is fully aware.

A client contacted us last year to contest  a late relative's Will.. We were able to reach a settlement with the executors that resulted in more than the client initially desired, without the costs of going to court and which included a reimbursement of the client's legal costs.

Client's should ask of their lawyers' qualifications and experience in the particular area of law they need assistance with and an estimate of costs involved.

Clients often ask if they will "win in Court".  It is not possible to  provide a guaranteed win to any client as the outcome depends on too many variables, such as the client's account, their opposition's account and sometimes unforeseen circumstances that arise.

We will advise a client if we can assist them or not before we even meet with them. However, our job is made easier if the client is honest, forthcoming and works with our team and remembers that we are here to help them.

Apart from set fee types of work eg conveyancing, standard Wills and Powers of Attorney, we want a clear factual account of the matter which we generally obtain from the client in the meeting.

bring all documentation to your meeting with our lawyers and have a chronology of events (ie their story with facts,   dates and times) clearly set out.  Answer all questions posed by the lawyer concisely and honestly.

10% discount on the total price of standard wills  when the firm is engaged to prepare two or more standard wills on the same occasion (eg the standard  will of a wife and husband).

What makes your pricing competitive?

We are realistic and we focus on commercial outcomes. However, clients should be aware that cheaper does not necessarily mean better! some matters can become expensive, for example, court proceedings, however we advise our clients well beforehand.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Some types of legal work have a set fee, for example standard wills, powers of attorney or conveyancing. Other  matters are charged at our hourly rates for which we provide cost estimates  before the matter commences.  We keep our clients up to date with the progress of the file and costs.

All of current our lawyers have at least  double bachelor degrees from university (of course including law degrees).  Our principal has 19 years of post admission experience in the  the industry and has been admitted to the Supreme Court and High Court since 1997.
