Yes. I am fully insured to the value of $5 million dollars, and as a family operated business, I stand by my work and my reputation. Should ANY issue arise, I will gladly return - no costs, no questions.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I decided to move into the carpet cleaning industry, as I could see that there was a need for good problem solvers who could think and operate outside the square to provide real solutions to real problems.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

I have many customer stories, but one that stands out was where I was engaged to rectify some bleach marks left in a carpet after the house cleaners had carried a mop over a carpeted area. The cleaners were petrified of losing their job, the owners were concerned that replacement would be the only solution. Much to the satisfaction of all parties, I was able to rectify these so that the marks were indistinguishable for the rest of the carpet. This is a very typical experience for my customers.

I really enjoy working with people, and sharing my wealth of knowledge and experience. Nothing delights me more than presenting a customer with a fluffy clean and fresh carpet. I enjoy the challenge of difficult stain removal, engaging with other experts in the field and continually improving.

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

Carpet cleaning is an unregulated industry, there are no shortage of unqualified cowboys who are operating. The questions you should ask are this;  1) Do you pre-vacuum? Any carpet cleaner who is not doing this is showing his/her lack of professional training. Vacuuming is the ONLY way to remove insoluble soiling, which is imperative for a sufficient clean. 2) What qualifications do they have, and can they display these on request on the day of the job. 3) Are they WoolSafe approved? Even if your carpet is not Wool, an operator holding this prestigious qualification has shown an excellence in industry knowledge and practice. WoolSafe protect their brand and only accept the best operators who are capable of meeting stringent requirements. 4) Do you charge extra for stains? Many cleaners will say no, but will leave you with the stains they said claimed to be able to treat. Expert stain removal is a specialist skill, and all experts charge for their time. Don't be drawn in by claims of free stain removal, nobody does anything for free!

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

Q. The last carpet cleaner seemed to get rid of the marks on the carpet, but they returned. Why?  A. It is most likely that the previous cleaner injected detergents into the carpet without a seperate hot water rinse, resulting in the detergents causing soil redeposition.  Q. Do you steam clean or dry clean?  A. I use both systems in varying capacities, and will discuss the best option for you to suit your carpet and your needs. Quite often I will combine elements of both systems. Unlike most franchise operators, I am not bound to the restriction of one system of cleaning. All systems have their benefits.

Being the owner of the business, and not having the almost unlimited advertising budgets of some of the franchise operators, my reputation is my livelihood. When you hire Mighty Clean Carpet, you deal directly with the business owner. Not an employee, not a sub-contractor, but the OWNER!

Mighty Clean Carpet is a family owned and operated business. When you hire Mighty Clean, you get the proud business owner attending to your needs. Unlike most franchises, we are not obliged to work with just one cleaning system. After considering all of the needs of your carpet, the soiling type and volume, the location and type of use, we can then determine the BEST cleaning process for the cleaning of YOUR carpets.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

*Areas that may require additional attention. Examples include pet staining, dye stains, ink stains, bleach stains etc. *Number of carpeted areas. Sometimes a lounge/dining will be greater than 20m2 and will be considered 2 rooms.

By giving me a call and indicating accurately any trouble areas (stubborn stains and their cause), and providing accurate numbers of rooms and carpeted areas, I will always stick to my prices.

Accepted Answer

Although our prices are not quite rock bottom, we believe in offering a great service at a fair price. We do not have the same overheads as many franchise based businesses, and we pass these savings to you, our valued customer.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

We have set pricing on a per room basis, and consider a room to be up to 20m2. Most cleaners consider 12-15m2 to be the limit of a room. We treat basic stains only during our clean, and will discuss any specialised work required on inspection. We can also address stains exclusively, and have a set rate for this.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

We specialise in expert stain removal. Many carpet cleaners claim to remove stains, but the truth is that we have built a reputation and business treating stains other cleaners couldn't budge. Bleach stain repairs, filtration soiling, wine stains, ink, various dye stains included. Our website shows some great examples of the work we do.

He is IICRC trained and certified, completed the advanced stain removal module, is an active member of the ICAN association, and is currently undertaking training for the prestigious WoolSafe accrediation.
