  They said they had done Ikea many times I asked in my ad for 6 dining chairs to be put together The guy only did 4 in an hour and refused to do the other two Lots of dropping of chairs and screws .I paid top price for very poor service . Left all the packaging in the middle of my lounge room. And two personal phone calls in his native tongue. He had to keep looking at the booklet, learning on my time Not friendly , ok in fact quite aggressive. In a way I only lost $120, At least I learnt a lesson who not to use to renovate . But one thing in his favour ......he turned up

  Hi Alan, thanks for your feedback. We are truly disappointed that this is the feeling you were left with after our service. We had responded to your post requesting to put together six Ikea chairs, and had confirmed a fixed quote of $120 for the six items, regardless of time taken to assemble. We had arrived at the requested time and upon arrival it was noticed that someone had tried to put together two of the chairs. As the packaging had been opened, screws put in the wrong place and item assembled incorrectly, our trade had politely advised that he won't be able to assemble those two chairs. Instead, he had put together two other Ikea items at your request (a two seater and a leg rest), adding up to six Ikea items as quoted. All up our trade spent closer to two hours to complete the job which was indeed longer than estimated (this being due to the three differing items) however we honored our initial quote and did not charge additional fees. We have plenty of experience assembling Ikea furniture and it is our company policy to always follow instruction booklet. Ikea have a range of over 100 chairs, and our policy has been put in place to ensure every item is assembled correctly with precision. Since the rate is fixed, we truly don't believe the extra precaution taken is an inconvenience to our customers. In our company we employ individuals regardless of ethnicity or additional languages spoken. We will take on the feedback regarding answering work related calls during a job.   Highly recommend this business. The workmanship is excellent and I was thrilled with the outcome. The work involved a large deck to be modified, extended, new steps and balastrades, it’s beautiful and receiving many compliments from friends and family. Highly recommend Melbourne Home Maintenance.
