Yes we are insured and yes I will not charge for my performance or I will give a refund if I have not fulfilled the contract in the way described by my advertising.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I have always been fascinated with the Art of Illusion and by combining comedy with magic I can provide unique entertainment that people don't see very much and the smiles and laughter make it all worthwhile.

These days I often walk into a coffee shop and the adult behind the serving counter will inform me that I performed at their six year old party and they still remember it. Scary!

Not many people can get paid for what they love doing and I love the surprised looks that people get when they realise that some law of physics was just broken infant of them and they don't have a ready explanation. However I try to downplay the fooling aspect and up play the laughter.

Customers need to explain their needs and the type of target audience they have so the act can be customised to fit the clientele. There is a list of requirements that are discussed which make the event run smoother but most are easily obtained.These requirements are dependent on the type of show.

Can I video the performance and the answer is yes as long as it is not uploaded anywhere without my permission. Also they are not allowed to rewind the tape and see how the tricks are done.

I have a very long and reliable track record and have only let customers down in extreme circumstances. The performers motto--the show must go on is my policy --even if I have to send another performer in my place ( which rarely happens.)

I have over 20 years experience in the entertainment industry and have performed for thousands of satisfied customers who have rebooked me year after year. I update my skills constantly and am always topical and up to date with the latest technology in illusion.For instance I have many tricks using smartphones.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

Time,venue,date,type of event and target audience. I also need the clients contact details in case of emergency.Sometimes the number of people in audience and the type of people will impinge on the quote

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

Accepted Answer

Customers should book early as to avoid last minute price hikes. They can often save money by charging the customer a small entertainment fee to attend the show and that way they don't have to pay for it all themselves. Sometimes after show selling can occur and the customer can gain a percentage cut from the sales. Things like magic kits,balloon animals etc. I send out a pdf invitation that can be printed --thereby saving on invitations.

Are there any special offers you would like to offer to Oneflare customers?

One flare customers can have a 10% discount if they book two shows and can receive free birthday party invitations if they include their email address.These invitations are sent as a pdf and can be printed from the customers home.

What makes your pricing competitive?

There are not many magicians in Australia but our pricing is on par with what they charge and it is a reasonable and affordable rate considering it is live entertainment of a professional standard.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Seven day Invoice or cash/cheque on the day. There is a range of prices due to the type of show,venue and size of audience. Some shows there is a per head charge and others it is a flat fee or hourly rate.

I love all forms of Magic but I won close up Magician of the year at the crown casino so I love to work with small groups at a cocktail function. I also love children Magic and family shows and have the best kids show in the Canberra and Queanbeyan region

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

I am a trained school teacher and have spent many years learning how to relate to a wide variety of clients having taught both adults and children. I have a working with Vulnerable people card which is a Government requirement.
