How did you decide to get into your line of work?

It is something I know I have always wanted to do since I was little. Whenever I walk into a space I immediately start looking for things to improve. I had worked in a couple of different industries before but kept coming back to interior design, so I decided to become qualified and went from there.

What do you like most about your job?

Creating the concept and seeing a design come together - my favourite part is seeing the clients reaction to a final design and gaining feedback.

What do I expect during the on-site consultation? We start with a tour of your home focusing on areas you would like to improve, and discuss the needs and goals for each room. You can expect recommendations for improving each area as we walk through and a sit down with detailed information.

I am passionate about interior design as well as my clients wishes. All designs are completed with respect to the clients personal style and wants/needs in mind.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

Location, areas to focus on/size of project, budget, style and who will be using the space. I recommend making a list of questions and/or areas of concern and have those ready for our meeting.

The customer can save money before we start work by knowing the scope and budget they are comfortable with. Knowing what spaces to work with and their likes/dislikes before we come is very beneficial.

Our pricing is at affordable rates so the client can get the most out of our services. We feel our pricing is fair for the range and quality of services we offer.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Initial home consultation are currently priced at $200 for up to 2 hours. After-which standard hourly rate of $100 applies. Project management services are charged at a percentage fee - will vary depending on the size of clients budget for project.

Residential design focusing on new house builds as well as existing renovations. We also offer pre-sale advice/general home improvement consultations.

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

Diploma of Interior Design, Certificate IV in Design (specialising in decoration) Certificate IV in Leadership & Management, Certificate IV in Customer engagement. I have also worked within in the building industry focusing on building products such as timber flooring, plasterboard products etc.
