  Firstly, the guy offered a quote for he job that included materials. It did not!. The price was good. The job was to prune the hedges, pull the weeds from the garden beds and to spread mulch over the garden beds. What he did was cut the grass? Unsatisfactory cut the hedges (Left neighbors side untouched!) He did not pull the weeds from the garden. He did not supply or spread mulch. His wife then rang me and asked where to send the bill. I noted that the job had to be finished 1st. He then called me a few hours later and remarked that I was a moron. After he rang back as I hung up on him for being very agressive we agreed for him to come back and finish the work and I would provide the mulch. He also demanded cash on the spot. I paid the money. He then refused to give me a receipt and said he would send one to my email. This never happened. Being through this with Simon from Lawn and Disorder, I would not recommend this guy to anyone. Go elsewhere. Garrey

  This is what happened in relation to the job. - I responded (via a quote through the website) to the job advertisement/description posted by Garrey which was for hedge trimming, weeding and spreading of mulch. - The job advertisement/description did not include the supplying of mulch, Garrey did not specify what type of mulch, the quantity of mulch or when the mulch was to be delivered, his job advertisement gave the impression the mulch was on site and only the spreading of the mulch was required.This is why I quoted $165 based on approx 4 hours work which is how long it did take me to complete the job. The mulch needed would have cost more than $165. - I arrived at the property to find no mulch, so I completed the other tasks that were stipulated in the job advertisement/description. I also as a courtesy and extra customer service mowed the front and back lawns and did all the edging with a whipper snipper and edger. Prior to cutting back the hedges I consulted with Garrey's wife (sorry I do not know her name) who advised how much to cut off the top so as I did not cut back too much or too little. - Garrey's wife was home for the duration of the job and on completion I advised her I was finished and that there was no mulch there so I could not spread it and would come back once the mulch was there and spread it over the garden beds. Garreys wife was very happy with the job and appreciated me cutting the grass and doing the edges as an extra. Garrey's wife then proceeded to call Garrey to clarify the mulch spreading. - After talking to Garrey for a minute or two she handed the phone to me as she advised he wanted to talk to me, this is where things became sour. - Garrey was very abusive towards me regarding the mulch accusing me of being a fraud and that I was full of bullsh*t because I insisted he was to supply the mulch as per his job description, because the job description amongst other things was to spread mulch without mention of supplying it. Garrey said he was a builder and not a person to mess with and was threatening me with coming home and sorting me out and teaching me a lesson. This is when I called him a moron because I tried to explain that his job description did not include the supplying of mulch and that I would have no idea what sort of mulch he wanted, the quantity of mulch required and when it could be delivered and that my fee would not have covered the cost of the mulch which he agreed to but still persisted with demanding I supply the mulch. I ended the conversation advising Garrey that when he has the mulch delivered to the site I would come back the next day and spread the mulch which I did. The quote which is a standard one flare quote response on the website said materials included which refers to me supplying all the tools etc to complete the job such as a hedge trimmer, wheel barrow , garden tools etc. - My job was to trim his side of the hedges I was not employed to cut the neighbour's side of a hedge, I cannot legally walk onto a property without permission. I weeded the garden beds, cut the hedges and cut his lawns etc as an extra and all he could and is saying is "What he did was cut the grass?" and don't expect to be paid extra for the grass cutting. I never expected or asked for anything extra for the grass cutting I did it off my own bat to provide a good service. - I did pull every single weed out of his garden, I did cut every single hedge as per his job description and I did spread mulch where he wanted it spread, I came back and spread the mulch on a separate day without charging him extra and cut the neighbours side of the hedge after getting the neighbour's permission even though that was not in the job description. - I did not demand cash on the spot I stipulated that I wanted cash after completing the job as he advised my wife he was not going to pay because he had to supply the mulch because the mulch cost more than $165 and why should he have to pay for the mulch and my fee. Garrey agreed for me to come back to spread the mulch once he had it delivered. Garrey was also extremely difficult as he insisted prior to paying me that 30 mins prior to completing the job on the second visit (spreading the mulch and cutting the neighbour's side of the hedges) that I call him so as he can come home and inspect and to send him photos of the completed work the work even though his wife was home. I called him and advised I would be 30 mins from completion, over an hour later he turned up and was rude and reluctantly paid. I did not refuse to give him a receipt as I said the receipts are computer generated and my wife does them at the end of the month and will email him one, hew was happy with that, or so it appeared. That was the end of it and I left. I was totally reasonable and completed the job as per his advertisement he is just not happy because he thought he could get the job done for free by trying to say I had to supply the mulch, if you check with oneflare they can provide the job advertisement/description which clearly shows there is no mention of supplying the mulch or any description of what type of mulch and what quantity of mulch. My quote also makes no mention of supplying the mulch. I can provide phone numbers etc of every job I have done that shows what Garrey is saying is completely absurd, I am not aggressive and everyone I have done work for apart from Garrey has been completely satisfied with everything I have done.
