How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I did carpentry as a school subject and really enjoyed it, so it was an easy decision to join my father and brothers in becoming part of the Family Carpentry business.

I have always enjoyed working with timber and I get a great deal of satisfaction when I see a completed job that the client and myself are very happy with. I take pride in doing good work.

Can I get a quote over the phone? Some small jobs I can quote over the phone, but usually I will need to see the job myself to ensure that the client and myself are on the same page as to what is required.

I pride myself on my reliability and punctuality, I am from a family of tradespeople and was raised to take pride in my work with an old fashioned ethic of an honest days work.

I have been in the building industry for 25 years and am experienced in all areas of carpentry. I am reliable and have never had an unsatisfied customer. My fees are very reasonable

Is a permit required from council. Need detailed description of work required. Do you need other trades to complete this work. What area is the job located. When do you wish this job to commence.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

Preparation by the customer can help to save money. For example demolishing the old pergola yourself so that the carpenter can just go in and begin building the new one will save time. Picking up material yourself from suppliers.

What makes your pricing competitive?

I have no overheads so can offer the client a very competetive quote. The fact that I have been in the industry for many years gives me the experience to be more effecient and therefore save time and money for the client.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Normally I will invoice the client at the end of the job, but if the job is a large one with  a lot of material required, I will sometimes require part payment up front and the balance on completion of work.

I am a fully qualified carpenter with over 25 years experience. I have done all types of carpentry including renovations, pergolas,decking and all types of home maintenance.
