    Avoid like the mutated strain of covid-19 I took my Macbook to Nerd2go in August of 2020. After the work was complete I noticed damage to my laptops monitor. Nerd2go was unable to fix the damage they caused so they gave me $50 compensation (any macbook owner knows thats not going to cover the cost of a monitor) Now in January my mac is showing that my battery is in "service now stage" After contacting them showing evidence of this notice they proceeded to scrutinise my claim. When they eventually accepted the facts they proceeded to refund me minus the $50 they had paid me in compensation for the damage they caused to my monitor. I explained to them these are two seperate issues. The first being damage caused from engaging their services & the second being that the goods and services paid for had not been met. They have refused to acknowledge this and are refusing to pay me the remaining amount. They have now left me no choice but to lodge a formal complaint with the ACCC which I have done. It's so disappointing that for the sake of $50 they have decided to be so uncooperative.

    After we replaced the battery, you reported a wobbling sound from your screen which is a common symptom of your MacBook model caused by an engineering mistake from Apple and not a fault of our workmanship. This wobbling/rattle has no effect on the laptop’s performance. The Apple forum explains this in more detail: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7148183?page=3 We understood your frustration and gave you a $50 partial refund which you were satisfied with. 5 months after the repair the battery we installed unfortunately failed. We use genuine Apple batteries that come with a 12-month warranty and very rarely fail. We would have been happy to honour this warranty and replace it for you on the spot, but you are based in Perth now, so we offered you a full refund instead. We understand your frustration but sometimes these things happen and we are always happy to honour the warranty/provide compensation. We have since provided a full refund and hope you have better luck with the next battery.

    The team at My Computer Support were friendly and helpful throughout the whole process. They went out of their way to ensure my laptop was returned to me in a working condition and I am happy with the results. They explained everything they were doing clearly and when one avenue of repair didn't work, they happily tried another. They even stayed open past COB so I could pick my laptop up after work.     Due to knowing how slow my computer was I decided to take the fixed cost option instead of the hourly rate. As I expected my computer was too far gone to be fixed as it, so the team suggested a replacement hard drive explaining I can transfer this to any other computer if I ever wanted to to that. It did cost more than the original quote due to parts required, however now I have a high functioning computer for half of the usual cost of a basis computer. They also through in some extra RAM at no extra cost and the fixed cost remained the same. In addition they managed to download FrontPage onto my computer which is an achievement in itself, as well as downloading Filezilla and making this work with my host sign of for my website. So good having this computer upgraded instead of binning it which was my next option. I now have a high functioning computer that meets my needs. So thank you My Computer Support.
