As a law firm in Queensland we are a practice who is fully insured and whose liability is limited by a scheme approved under professional standards legislation.  We fully guarantee our services and the bulk of our work comes from word-of-mouth referrals so if you are ever not 100% satisfied with our services we will do everything possible to ensure we can fix that!

We take pleasure in achieving the best outcomes for our clients and resolving their problems no matter which area they may be; whether it be tax advice, estate planning or business structuring that will save them money, reviews of contract and lease documents to give them peace of mind and protect them from litigation or perhaps in family law in negotiating a settlement that really benefits them and is catered to their individual requirements.

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

When it comes to conveyancing, you must be careful of the 'cut-price' budget conveyancing providers who won't give you the time of day. Also it is often these firms that charge hidden extra costs like extra search fees for every search ordered, or a separate settlement fee, or a further fee for extensions of finance or settlement dates etc. We have no hidden fees, just a once-off payment which can even be paid out of the settlement funds so as to not impact your cashflow!

The principal of the firm, Mr Alfio Romano, has over 35 years of experience in the law in a vast range of areas!  His son, Mr Gianni Romano, is a young solicitor with flair who despite only being admitted to the field in early 2012, has over 7 years experience in the industry!  Our head conveyancer, Jenny White, has over 30 years personal experience working in the field of conveyancing!

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

In the legal profession it is difficult to give fixed fee quotes, and most firms charge on a time cost basis. Most simple standard jobs can be quoted with ease for example standard conveyancing, a deceased estate or new lease. However in some circumstances for us to adequately assess the costs involved with taking on your job we will need to meet with you for a no-obligation, entirely free meeting to discuss your matter and what you wish to achieve.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

We may be able to review your appointment of agency forms if selling a house and we can negotiate a lower commission rate for you or suggest areas where you may be able to save on costs!  Similarly, we can review a contract for you BEFORE signing to make sure your interests are fully protected so we can pre-empt any potential issues and stop them from popping up!

We do not time-cost like most other firms which means you get one-on-one legal advice worthy of a top-tier price for a fixed amount or agreed price consistently below the average in the industry.

We normally charge on a fixed fee basis, but with matters of litigation, family law or criminal law and other matters where it is difficult to know what costs are involved from the outset we give you upper and lower estimates that we stick to!
