What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

The information to supply an accurate quote is typically,  The type/colour of the glass, The size of the glass and if the bottom of the pane is <500mm from ground level (AS1288-2006) If a ladder or other equipment could be required to complete the job safely.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

3 tips of advice on saving money on your next glass replacement; 1/ Measure the broken glass as accurately as possible before ringing for a quote 2/ Describe the type of glass you require, is it clear, did it break into 1000's of pieces or is the glass opaque or textured? 3/ Describe as best you can any particular glazing characteristics of the glass - is it a simple rectangle, are there rounded corners, is the window arched at the top, is the edging around the glass putty or timber bead? Additional descriptions allow us to estimate glazing time, if more than one trip is required and what type of glass we need for your particular circumstance. Therefore, in a world where time = money, the clearer the instructions are, the greater opportunity that exists for you to save your hard earned dollars.

How do you normally charge for your service?

With most jobs, providing there is access to get to the window our price is based on the type of glass either requested or required and typically there is a m2 rate applied to the supply and installation which includes deglazing of the broken window and cleaning the area on arrival and before we leave.
