This is a rebranding/renaming of the company that was previously Fine Art Concreting which had many terrible reviews like mine...which resulted in a VCAT case against them which I won (case: D772/2012), see attached.Noel

There is nothing "fine" about this mob, They completely screwed up the concrete work under my pergola . 1. The did not excavate enough earth to allow for the depth for the concrete. 2. Instead they raised the floor all the to base of the wooden pillars of the pergola. 3. They made the floor overly slopping towards the drains like like as though they were preparing the place for flash floods. 4. Despite telling them it was going to be polished concrete floor the finish was so uneven that polishing it was extremely difficult and time consuming that it costed me more $$. 5. The curves and shaping of the edges were not done with a keen eye . 6. The rebar placed for the concrete was just thrown on the ground in some corners and not suspended or pulled up when pouring concrete. 7. They covered up an existing water trap rather than terminating it properly . 8. They were about to cover up a faulty leaking joining until I insisted on its repair as included in the work scope. 9. Cleaning up after the work was very poor. 10. Stress cuts were not done in time , therefore scaring the cuts in the concrete that completely spoilt the finish. 11. Did not refit the clothes line slot properly flush with the concrete , it sticks up 15 cm out off the concrete when you remove the pole. All in all , this is a mob of guys just out to make money and do not have your interest nor their interest in the work done . They just like to finish the job and take the money and run. The warranty is just a piece of paper has nothing to it , so don't fall for that. If any they are just good enough to do simple straight forward concrete jobs , with no Drains or fine work involved. The owner will sweet talk you into the type of work he does. simply put it poor work and very difficult to work with.Rui

In summary: 1. his crossover work didn' pass council inspection and he refused to fix it. I spent 2000 extra to find another concretor to fix it. 2. He promised to build 4.2m crossover, instead what he actually did was 4.0m, so 20cm less. 3. The exposed driveway looked smoky because he didn't do the sealing properly 4. Chemical used on driveway damaged the footpath, footpath was patchy. Avoid this guy!! In detail: I posted my job to build a crossover and driveway. He gave me a quote and I didn't choose him initally because I searched his company and found a few people gave really bad reviews. Also his quote about the driveway was only 50, but others measured 55-60. Then about one month later, he called me again to ask the job, and I told him I'm about to get the job started with another concreter. He offered me a discounted price because he got a job cancelled that week and he needed to fill it in the job. I told him that some other quotes were 55-60. He said it was ok, it could be relaxed a bit like to 53 even 55. He would work it out on the site. He asked me about the color, I said probably grey color (not grey based exposed aggregate). I eventually went with him because I trusted his words. And I deeply regretted that decision. During the job, we got a few issues with him about the area of the driveway and the color. Through an unpleasant discussion, he offered us to pay 800 more to finish the job. He finished the job and took all the cash. Then the crossover didn't pass the council inspection. I asked him to come back to fix it. He said I gave him a headache in the job so that was a lesson for me and asked me to fix it. I kept calling him. He then came back to me to offer 600 as a refund and that's it. The council inspector gave me a list of concreters, and I found one to fix it. It took me 2000 to fix it to comply to council standard. I thought to go through legal process. But after talking to a lawyer, the layer suggested it didn't worth it for the amount of the money. So I accepted his 600 refund. He asked me to send him a email and he would make the payment ASAP. I sent the email, and he just kept delaying the payment. I had to keep asking him. Eventually I had enough and said if you didn't pay, I would cancel the agreement. He eventually paid 600 after one month. That's was his 'ASAP'. Other than the issue raised by the council inspector. The driveway has an inconsistent thickness. The sealing wasn't done properly, so the driveway looks smoky. The chemical used on the driveway flew to the footpath of the crossover, so the footpath surface was damaged and looks patchy. And I just found today that he secretly built the crossover as 4m instead of 4.2m, which he knew it should be 4.2 and it was clearly shown in my crossover permit. That provs how sneaky he is as a person. He had messed up so many things in my job. His character and attitude had given me a lot of stress. I felt very sad to go with such a bad trade. It was a nightmare for me. But I don't want it to mess up my living, so I chose to move on. But I need to tell what he did so fewer people can have similar pain. Bottom line, don't just handover your money to him when he claims. Delay a few days and make sure you are absolutely happy with it. For council work, call council and wait until the council passed all the checks.Cristina
