How did you decide to get into your line of work?

Planning events come naturally to me.  I've been designing events since I was in high school, and LOVED seeing all the ideas and hard work come together and result in a successful event.  I've always had a love and passion for hosting people at my own events so to me, it was a no brainer to turn my love for events into an event planning business!

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

The bride will share with me her vision for her wedding day and ask me my opinion.  Most questions I get from brides are my thoughts on their ideas and what do I suggest to make it better.

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

Accepted Answer

I pride myself that I give my clients the BEST service and value for money.  My heart is to see my client get the perfect day they have envisioned and I go out of my way to ensure that their budget does not get blown out of the water!

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

What TYPE of wedding are you after?  - Formal / Casual / Beach / Themed etc. How many people are attending the wedding? What is your overall budget for the wedding?

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

If you have the time, bring to me a couple of vendors and quotes for services offered (florist, make-up artist etc.)  This will cut my hours down which means you do some of the work and save some money  :)

What makes your pricing competitive?

I price my services slightly lower as what other planners charge.  My fees include my travelling costs, admin fees and much more.  I go above and beyond my fee to ensure my client gets 100% bang for her buck!

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

I charge my clients based on what the overall budget and design is.  Some clients want a small intimate event, and for that my fees are relatively low.  If the event is big, then my fees go up as it means longer hours spent on the event as more detail is involved.  Once I hear the final budget allowance for the event and what the bride wants, this gives me a clear idea of how many hours I will be spending working on this project and from there I can give an estimate of my fee

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

Yes, the design!  I love to design an event around a certain theme / colour / pattern or whatever the client likes.  From there, the rest flows!

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

I have GREAT people skills, I am creative and love to think and design "outside the box".  I tailor design each event to the uniqueness of my client's personality and desires.  I have 10+ years experience being an Event Planner and got my qualifications as a Professional Event Planner (with a Major in Marketing) 6 years ago.  Learning about the industry is a constant and ongoing thing for me as it's important to keep up with the latest trends!
