I've always been handy. I love the outdoors and working on the roof offers unique million dollar views. My family has been in gutter guard and roof cleaning and I grew up learning that honest hard work is undervalued and often hard to find in tradespeople.

A husband and wife hired me last year to clean out the gutters because they heard water constantly running in the roof. Funny thing is there are hardly any trees nearby. As I was clearing the down pipes and checking drainage - a HUGE brown snake slithered out of the roof and down the pipe :O

I love my job because it is One of the few jobs where you can fix the issue immediately. I also love to work outdoors and meet interesting people (and usually their pets) - don't worry I'm a dog person so no locking the dog indoors necessary

Ask less about How Much, and more about How. Dodgy jobs and unskilled people are everwhere. Check insurance currency and always always read reviews!

The most common question I hear is 'how quickly can you get here?' The answer is usually today, sometimes tomorrow, but definitely within a week.

I will usually need to know what type of job it is, the issue or why it's required, some idea of accessibility and any hazards, as well as a photo or address to get a visual inspection of the job.

Always remember - you get what you pay for. If there is One thing I can advise all of my current and future clients, it is that saving money by hiring tradespeople that cut corners will cost you money and grief in the long term

I always charge on a case by case basis. I can usually give an on the spot quote, and sometimes a Google satellite view, photos or an on site inspection is needed to give you an exact value. In any case I can always at least give you an honest ballpark figure.
