Im fully insured and personally guarantee my work if theres any problems I don't have any problem returning to fix the matter with no charge if its from my work or  material found to be faulty ive supplied with no cost to the customer

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

started work when I was 16 years old,raised up on a farm was into helping my dad welding machinery and building sheds was always good with my hands and  was back then technical school got to learn more skills at school enjoyed sheet metal work and welding at school so chased for a field in plumbing or boilermaker and got the plumbing

this  isn't a customer story but one I like to share when I was an apprentice my father would laugh at the difference between his sons My brother was studying to be an accountant and would come home and say how good a day he had using his brain working learning how to  do the books for  business Ide come home and tell him how good a sewer drain we had laid  how straight and how man yards we laid in the day, how  much hard  work  ide done as back then  there was no pvc pipes all earthenware clay pipes my father  would laugh at me couldn't work out how anyone could be thrilled about laying  sewer drains

What do you like most about your job?

theres nothing I haven't liked about plumbing,a wide range of different aspects to the trade and the advancement it has made over the years   Every job is differant really enjoy meeting people on site or private customers

They should ask if there Licenced and  Insured, and if the job is valued over $700 or  involves Gas or  appliances, white goods which need to be installed by a plumber that they receive a Certificate of Compliance  through the VBA, So they a fully covered with house insurance and appliance warrenty

90 % of the jobs ide like to see  before Quoting so theres no confusion Between the customer and myself so nothings missed ,and theres no hidden extras at the end of the job which can cause problems Its hard to picture what people explain over the phone to do a proper quote

Know what you want and how you want it spend a bit more on quality if your supplying items, in the long run it will end up cheaper lasting longer Make  shore if your supplying material that parts can be  found for repairs in the future      can be a problem with imported material from small supplyers

access to material prices, making a material list up and pricing on site without any extra costs, just adding my fair hourly rate to it. Good prices from the suppliers is past on to customers hot water services ,toilet suites etc  big items I supply at cost

How do you normally charge for your service?

Normally I charge  at $70 per hour Minimum , then $35 every half hour  pending on traveling and the size of the job outside of melton shire might charge $20 fee if its under an hours work as I try not to have a call out fee if I can

I really enjoy and take pride in home renovations (bathroom  Kitchen etc ) To do a good job for the customer, sharing ideas and advice and knowing at the end of the job when I walk away that the job is spot on seeing the rooms from the start and what they transform into at the finish
