  I’m not one that likes to name and shame people for their work but this has been nothing but a disaster. Contra Painting Services assured me that he is an up front and honest guy that always makes sure he leaves his customers felling happy with his work and quotes at a reasonable price. All I wanted was my garage, render & door frame painted black which he came around to match the colour of my drainage pipes & fence that are black which he quoted $1800. Was sent photos after he was finished while I was at work, to it being the colour blue. I question him and said it looks blue and asked if it would go darker and his response was ‘Final colour that's what was picked nah it's not blue’, as you can clearly see in the photos it‘s blue. Once I got home, I then seen the job itself and was mortified on how messy it was, all over my bricks on the house, on the cement, sprayed all up the top of my roof, on the walls inside and door frame was terrible, he then puts the blame on the apprentice. Had a conversation over the phone, he then admits it’s blue and said was a paint error with the paint company, said it would put him out of pocket if doing it again and made me feel bad for him, said he would fix his mess and paint it the colour I’m after if I payed an extra $200. Silly me caved and paid him in full as he insisted the money. Two weeks later he comes around to repaint with the same apprentice, assures me he has the right colour that matches my fence & pipes that was in this book he had with him, which I agreed on as it does look black in the book. I get home to it now being charcoal, still not the colour I ask for and he hasn’t fixed up his paint markings that are everywhere! Also this time decided he wouldn’t paint the inside of the render properly. As you can clearly see in the photos it’s way off and I tried explaining this over the phone but he said that’s the colour we agreed on but my problem is that it isn’t what I ask for I simply asked for black not this colour. He then sent the paint rep guy out and he was even disappointed with his work and said he doesn’t understand why he didn’t choose their darkest black, as the colour he suggested may look black on the sheet but will dry to this colour in direct sun lite, which him being the professional with 30 years experience should know. Contra Painting Services has now blocked my number as his got his money and I’m now gunna have to fork out the money to get it to the colour I’m after. It’s beyond disappointing to have hired someone professional to do the job and turns out I would have been better off doing it myself.

  There is always two sides to a story made no phone contact to rectifying anything just put this post on my reviews. and facebook sight to ruin my reputation and business. my history speaks for its self on my other reviews. no one complaint

  Steve was excellent to hire. He is very professional, knows his trade well. Prompt and no nonsense, but friendly. Quote was spot on, kept to his schedule and a hard worker. His employee was very polite, friendly and worked well. The fence looks great. I would recommend him for any painting job. (Pam)
