Yes. Have all of my insurance up to date as do all of my Trades that work with me is needed.

Not their vaccination status but would appreciate if they advise if they have COVID prior to an appointment

Happy to wear a mask if client requests. I am up to date with my COVID and Flu shots

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I always wanted to be an Architect as my Grandfather and Father were builders so I grew up in the building industry and a love for buildings. My Mother passed away when I was 15. I finished school and life changed direction for a few years. After I married and had my children I decided to follow my dreams in my late 20's, I enrolled in Interior Architecture for 4 year through a design school in England. I started my business in 1991 and the rest is history 😊

A client emailed me asking could I Project Manager a renovation to her Apartment. The email address was from Canada and the project was in Toronto. I emailed back that my business was in Australia. Client said her apartment was on Toronto Lake Macquarie. I2 months later and one meeting it was done

What do you like most about your job?

Meeting amazing people and have formed many friendships over the years.  Interior Design is a tough job. Especally when we fit out our projects but such a rewarding job at the same time.

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

Is the designer qualified to do the work you are needing them to do. Interior Architects / Designers should be accredited - especially if designing for renovation work, kitchens, bathrooms etc.. Do they work with a Structutal Engineer to sign off on designs if needed. If you are needing decorating only, then how long have they been in business, are they insured and have the back up of the companies they supply from.  Do they supply, deliver and install and also, are items covered by warranty and if som for how long.

Do you work on smaller Projects like Colour Selections??? Answer - Absolutely. I love working with clients needing colours for their home or business. When I am working with colour, all seems well with the world :)

33 years in the Industry with many testamonials. Working with all of my clients, it is always on a huge level of trust. I work with overseas clients on their projects here and sometimes we never meet.

Chris Cole-Clark Interior Designer has been in Business 33 years. Our company can help you with a paint colour for your home or if you are looking at renovations, we start from plan stage to help you get the complete look you are wanting to acheive. Plans, elevations, Scope of Works and Interior Schedules are all part of what I do. If you are requiring furniture and furnishings as well, we work with many companies and manufactures to give you a customised and unique product.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

What the project will be. I always like to quote after my First Standard meeting as then it is confirmed exactly what is needed by the client. Everyone is different and like to work in various ways. I can work on hourly fees, or can give a quote for the complete project. This does not include site meetings or meeting with trades.

Have and idea of the type of Style you like Always do your Homework on your trades to make sure they are qualified for what you are hiring them for Remember try not to rush things through.  Thats when mistakes are made and it can be costly

I provide a high standard of Design but also love what I do. I keep my fees realistic with no surprises.   I can work on a "Do and Charge" Fee or a Firm Quote. Each client has different needs are always happy with the fee structure

How do you normally charge for your service?

First Meeting is always a Standard First Hour Fee. After this we can propose a firm price for a particular project or work on do and charge.  As each client is different, we work on what is best for them.

We work on a varied scope of projects from Residential to Aged Cares. A big part of what we do is Project Managing from plan to fitout and making sure the project process is as stress free as possible.

Studied Interior Architecture and have worked on many exciting projects.  Residential, Commercial, Aged Care and Industrial work is all part of what we do. I travel extensively to be always updated on what is trending to keep my clients one step ahead of what is happening
