I am insured through The Celebrant Association which I am a member of. I take my work very seriously and would hate to let anyone down and therefore, I 100% guarantee my work.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I was looking for something I could do after I retired from teaching and when I attended a few weddings, i thought it was something that I would love to do so I started my course and just loved it and I have enjoyed every wedding that I have performed since.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

Accepted Answer

Every couple who are having an outside wedding worries about the weather and probably one of my favourite weddings was a couple who had planned a beach wedding on The Sunshine Coast. The day of the wedding the rain was cyclonic but we held the wedding in the unit  it was just beautiful.

I really enjoy meeting the couples and getting to know them and being a little part of their special day.

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

What choices do I have for my ceremony? Will it be personalized? How many meetings do we need? Do you provide a PA system and who works it? Can I play my music for the ceremony through it?

What can I offer them? I give my clients  choices to every part of the ceremony. I provide my own PA system and my husband is my tech support & will play their music for the ceremony. I present them with a copy of their ceremony. I am available by phone, email, text. I will have a rehearsal.

Throughout my working career, as a Director of a Pre School, a practicing Reflexologist (I ran my own business) and now for the past 7 years as a celebrant, I consider myself to have integrity, be very reliable, trustworthy and take personal interest and care with those who have come to me.

I listen to what you want. I believe the ceremony is about you not me. I'm there to help you create a wedding that is unique to you and you are happy with every aspect of the ceremony.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

I like to know the size and location. I like to know whether the couple have an idea of what type of wedding they would like eg. simple, longer, if they want to write their own vows, if they want to include friends or family in the ceremony.

Having been part of planning my 3 children's weddings, I have lots of tips to give to help keep within their budget.

What makes your pricing competitive?

The Registry office charges over $500, I try to keep my price around that, whereas most celebrants charge way over.

How do you normally charge for your service?

The initial interview is free so we can get to know each other. Once you book me I charge $150 booking fee which gets taken off the final amount & the remaining amount is paid 6 weeks before the wedding.I am negotiable depending on the size of the wedding & distance.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

I perform weddings of all types and am especially partial to performing weddings of mixed cultures. i like to incorporate cultural aspects that are important to the couple and I also enjoy performing ceremonies that include children. Second marriages in the older age group are also something I enjoy

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

I have 7 years experience. I'm a qualified celebrant  & regularly attend professional development.I listen to my clients and work with them to create a unique ceremony that represents them as a couple.My clients choose from many examples that I give them the different parts of the ceremony.
