Accepted Answer

The business carries Public and Products Liability and General Property Insurance with GIO to the value of  $5,000,000 for Public and $5,000,000 for Products. Our certificate of Compliance can be viewed on this site.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I was an electrical engineer in Sweden and when I moved to Australia decided I would much prefer to qualify as an electrician and I've never looked back.

I've worked for a couple in Oatley named Don and Jenny since1996. They bought this deep waterfront on the Georges River and have slowly renovated it into a spectacular home, all the while using me as their electrician. Jenny's quite sure she's paid for my mortgage with all the work I've done.

I meet a lot of interesting people in a myriad of professions from architecture and construction to interior design and landscaping. I also seem to be appointed to works with amazing water views around Sydney, so if you have a waterfront property, I'm the electrician for you.

Q: How much cheaper for cash A:It's not about the payment method. The business still has to pay tax and it has to pay GST. Whether we pay for it in cash or by EFT the cost of doing the job does not come down. You are welcome to pay using our EFTPOS facilities, cash or EFT, whichever convenient.

If the premises are new or existing, domestic or commercial. The current state of wiring and switchboards and whether cabling needs to be chased or services are in awkward locations. The quality of products the client has in mind in relation to the budget. Timing and budget of the works.

1. Have the area to be worked in cleared of furniture or machinery. 2. Have a good idea about what they want so that time and money isn't wasted starting with one solution only to have a change of mind and works need to be recommenced. 3.Get a couple of competitive quotes you can benchmark me on.

Master Electricians Australia publish an annual report on electrical contractor charge out rates for various electrical services so I am quite aware of the cost benchmarks in the marketplace. We are fairly priced and competitive.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Whatever the client is comfortable with. Some people prefer an hourly rate, others a quote for works. I'm happy to do either.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

I am passionate about providing clients with efficient energy solutions and hence my accreditation as a Solar Installer with the Clean Energy Council. Even when working with non solar electrical solutions, I always recommend the most energy efficient solution so that it saves people money.
