Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

We have public liability insurance and we always make sure our equipment/ladders are safe and not interfering with the flow of customers or staff in the shop where possible.

What do you like most about your job?

I love the satisfaction of doing a great looking sign and seeing the smile on the client's face. I love being able to provide a skill that enhances to look of a venue, adds that touch of class and most importantly brings in business for my client.

What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?

I always like to get to know my clients a little and to work in with them when it comes to designs, timing on the job and budget. If I can't get to the phone when it rings, I am usually up a ladder or liasing with clients and will get back to you as soon as possible. I keep to schedule and will turn up when I say I will.

I have been doing this business for a long time now, and am very quick and experienced. I can come up with layouts and designs on the spot and I really enjoy being able to provide a service that helps my clients' businesses to grow.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

Accepted Answer

Before quoting I need a photo of the  area to be worked on if possible. Also need to know how much information to be written/painted and if illustrations are required. The actual wording would be helpful. Also I need to know if ladder work is to be involved and if the client has any ideas they would like us to incorporate whether it be actual illustrations or just the style they want.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

The customer can save money by having the information they want already thought out and  written down for us and the panels to be worked on painted, clean and ready to go. Being able to provide a parking spot nearby is also a big help and time saver.

What makes your pricing competitive?

Accepted Answer

My pricing is competitive as I am very quick on the job and provide value  and quality for money. Many of my clients say their turnover has improved immensely since having us do their signage, one even stating a figure of 500% increase in turnover. It pays to invest in good signage!!

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

I usually charge by the hour but can also give an approximate costing for the job. Each job is different and so it is hard to apply a standard fee to jobs. I also have to charge a small travel fee to cover my time while travelling to jobs as this time could be used in my studio on the many jobs waiting to be completed.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

I specialise in producing unique, hand rendered signage which look professional and makes a huge difference to the look of my clients' premises. As I have been told on numerous occasions, the quality of my signage, makes the client's business look like a quality business.

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

Accepted Answer

I did an initial training course for 2 years, back in the nineties and regularly attend meets with other like-minded professionals to hone our skills and learn new ones. I train others also to do what I do, both internationally and in Australia.
