How did you decide to get into your line of work?

After working away for over 12 years I decided to come back and work in Perth. However could not find a job that could pay me the same wage as before so I looked at owning my own business. Security and Telecommunication course were being offerd at Balga TAFE and the rest is history. I am happy assisting and Helping people with having the paece of mind that their property and belongings are safe and protected while they are at work, on holiday or doing whatever they like.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

Mr and Mrs Smith had a quote from me but decided to give the job to my competitor for $ 200.00 cheaper than me. They had been given my number by their neighbor Mr & Mrs John who were happy with my services. After the installation they had all sort of problem with the system, false alarms 3 to 4 a day for no reason. It went on for 3 days after which they gave me a call. I went and assessed the job and asked them to get the company to fix it under their warranty, they did not give any. They tried the Consumer Afaairs, however the quote was only verbal based on my price but not the same parts etc... They desperately needed Help. I really felt sorry for them and offerd to help them for parts cost plus 20% ONLY and Started the whole job over. I used whatever parts I could and replaced the rest. Finished the job for them and they were happy. In the end they gave me their 3 kids new home Security System to Install and have been a loyal customer since. Assisting and Helping someone with a need of my Service. Seeing a smile and relief on their face once the job is completed.  The referals that come after I've done someone's job, sometimes years later.

What makes your pricing competitive?

I work for a reasonable profit margin and operate from home. I am able to keep the cost lower than my competitors and pass on the savings to my clients who in turn refer me to friends and family thru word of mouth most of the time.

How do you normally charge for your service?

As a small family operated business we operate with very little over head and credit. We request payment at job completion and a 30% deposit on quote agreement prior to start the job. We accecpt electronic transfer as well as cash which ever is easier. We also accept cheque for repeated customers.

I have been involved with Installation and Maintanance of Security Alarms and other Related System since 1999 after completing my Electronics CertificateIII at TAFE. Prior to that I had been an Electro-Mechanical Fitter in Power Stations in WA. I am a registered Cabler, Secutity Licenced ( 11846) plus ACA registered to work on phone lines. I keep up with Technology and Taining with all the Products I supply and Install.
