Raised by parents who themselves are designers, I have lived my whole life surrounded by the world of creativity & the joy of artistic expression. Influences also come from the love of colour in nature, diversity of culture through travel, the appreciation of beauty in spaces & objects, inspiration of having worked with amazing people within the industry & the general enjoyment of creative innovation we are emerged in our everyday living.

What do you like most about your job?

There is so much joy in being able to create beautiful environments & spaces for my clients, helping them achieve & fulfil dreams for their homes gives such great personable satisfaction. I do love being part of the creative process becoming almost like a problem solver offering innovative solutions to the many factors commonly faced within design & each project can be so different. To be able to provide the answers & put a smile on a clients face gives such a wonderful sense of achievement !

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

Before providing a fee proposal to a client a design brief is determined during an initial design meeting by we discuss what it is you the client are wanting to achieve. During this meeting we are able to chat about the exact work involved & a guestimate on the design fees provided.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

I normally charge hourly for a project however each project is different so the fee structure may be discussed further at the initial design meeting.  Four design stages are followed from concept through to contract administration. Once a stage has been completed a progress invoice is then issued to the client. The client is kept updated throughout the fee process & can view the hours spent to date.
