How did you decide to get into your line of work?

"I purchased a cleaning company for $2000.00 when I was 19. They asked for 10 times that but $2000 was all I had after selling my car. I never thought they would accept my offer. They did and from there I learnt to love the journey of starting a company. I sold it after launching online house cleaning deals. I enjoyed my early 20's working and studying before registering a sole trader and deciding to move the new business into the commercial sector. After gaining our first few commercial clients, I registered BeClean Australia as a company and re-branded. "My first large commercial contract was a school. I forgot to tell them to put the chairs up at the end of the day. I lifted thousands of chairs all night long for about 12 hours so my cleaners could clean. Repetitive action injury was very real that night. I learnt that the devil is the details that night. What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

Q: Do you charge by the hour or by the job? A: We used to charge hourly when we weren't quite sure how to charge as we didn't have the experience to know how long things should take.  Q: Do you employ your staff or contract? A: Employing means control over quality and training.  Q: Do you pay superannuation, annual leave, sick leave and worker compensation to your staff? A: If there is even a moment of hesitation it could mean that you are at risk of a workplace legal suite if an accident occurs. If entitlements are not being paid correctly, it is an unethical business and may open you up to quality assurance issues or security issues.

Q: How much will it be to clean BLANK or include BLANK?  A: We will give you a checklist of all the tasks you could ever think of and the costs associated with cleaning them.  Q: How long will it take? A: Once you've decided on what type of clean you would like, we will give you a reasonably accurate time frame. As we charge by the job, if we get the timing wrong, we bare the cost, not you.  Q: Do I need to be home? A: No, upon the first clean, it is always nice to be home to go over the clean with the supervisor so that we can all agree that you are happy with the results and identify anything we could change to make it better.

Worst case scenario the Founder Oliver O'Malley will clean your job site. - We have a proven track record of providing services 7 days a week for the past 5 years to commercial clients at all hours of the day.

We outline all the tasks and provide a completed checklist at the end via our Mobile Application.  English speaking, well groomed and uniformed cleaners. Trained employees, maintained quality equipment, colour coded microfibre rags, safe and effective chemicals and National Police Checks.

1. Tidy the house (have the floor as free from everything as you can) 2. Don't leave the kitchen a mess (dirty dishes etc...) 3. Put away clutter (less clutter means faster dusting/surface cleaning, that means a cleaner house)

To put it simply we have low overheads and we pass those savings on to you!  - We do not pay to rent an office and never have, our admin staff all work from home and always will.  - We manufature our own chemicals, which saves a lot and cuts down on plastic waste. - We developed our own applications which means we do not pay for fancy software. - We take advantage of government schemes allowing us to subsidise wages. - We work hard!  Paying the correct wages & entitlements means you get the best person for the job.

We charge based on set number of tasks carried out to an agreed level of quality beforehand.   This removes doubt or disagreement at the completion of the clean and allows us to develop best practices for efficient and effective cleaning methods. It also allows customers to quickly an easily change their cleans to fit their budget.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

We specialise in tertiary education cleaning and carpet dry cleaning and extraction carpet & upholstery cleaning, commonly referred to as "steam" cleaning.  This makes us particularly fantastic when it comes to bond / End-of-Lease cleaning.

Our experience ranges from large real estate projects cleaning hundreds of homes at the conclusion of building projects, to cleaning small apartments on a weekly basis to one off cleans that ensure tenants bonds are returned.  Our work in the commercial sector has developed a culture of efficient time management & correct cleaning techniques using the best equipment for the job.  All BeClean staff are employed which allows for in house induction training, on-going skill development, customer service and overall appearance and grooming.
