Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

I have my own current public liability insurance. As a QBCC licensed member I am bound by their requirements as far as guarantees are concerned which is why it is always safer for the consumer to use QBCC members.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

Always wanted to do a "hands on" job and wanted to be able to see and touch the results of my labour.

Did a kitchen renovation a few years ago for a retired Polish lady who had 3 now adult children and missed cooking dinner for them so i had 3 cooked meals a day whilst there. Hard to top that one.

Sense or satisfaction at the completion of a job. Knowing you have improved an existing structure or dwelling and on occasion improved someones home life.

Number 1 is are you QBCC licensed. This is the best way to protect yourself to make sure you are getting a quality job completed to your satisfaction for the agreed price, don't be afraid to ask to see the license. Have you done this sort of work before.

How long will the job take? I try to give an accurate answer but sometimes if other trades are involved their delay becomes your delay. Do I need to stay home whilst you are here? No is the answer there, as long as we can sort out a plan for access your life doesn't need to be impeded.

Most of my work is received by word of mouth recommendations and as a consumer myself I know i would not recommend a tradesperson to friends or family unless I was completely satisfied in the completed product.

Attention to fine detail by respectful and courteous trades person with clear communication through all stages of the task at hand.

Are certified plans required? When would you like to start/finish the project? Do you have a realistic budget to complete the job? If so, do you have the materials rquired.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

Don't rush into a project, give it some thought before you take the next step. If possible find a similar project in a magazine or brochure or, if possible draw a sketch of what you require. Source required materials yourself, just make sure they are suitable for the job at hand.

I try to stay aware of current costs and charges by conversation with others in the industry and advertisements by some of the larger employment services

Happy to supply a quote or work on hourly rate for proposed works. Do however charge a 2 hour minimum call out fee for smaller jobs.

Home renovation repair/ maintenance. Currently specialising in pre sales makeovers helping to prepare homes for sale. Happy to give advice to maximise sale price for those on a budget.

Completed 2 trades firstly as a cabinet maker then later as a carpenter. Previously employed as a supervisor so competent in most aspects of the maintenance/home renovation industry. Also able to carry out tiling, plaster repair and painting jobs so less organising required by client.
